Like the MSM, I will try to put a positive spin to my review. If you decide to move here you would be living in a gated community, to be more specific, gated eight months of the year as the front gate stopped working sometime in September and the back gate stopped working over a month ago and both were just fixed, let's see how long they last in working order. If you need your car tagged it will be done for free, at night, by guests of a tenant. If you are considering getting rid of things inside your vehicle, thieves will give you the excuse needed to replace the stolen property with something new. Here you may feel safe when you see City of Chandler police visiting the complex on a regular basis. This is the perfect place for entomology students or entomologists. Your own apartment will become your personal laboratory, plenty of roaches, spiders, black widows and an abundant supply of scorpions and other insects for you to do research on, all free. If you have a stiff neck, living here might help with your problem; you will constantly spend your time inside the apartment looking at the ceiling, up and down the walls and all over the carpet for scorpions, this exercise may loosen up your neck. If you like to look at stars, you will see plenty after you get stung by a scorpion, the pain is severe and you may experience numbness throughout the body. At least 15 scorpions have been killed inside our apartment, one stung a five year old (almost an emergency room visit) and another and adult (feeling to the sting area returned after about a month), the experience was not pretty. Two more were left inside the light fixtures, the heat of the light bulb took care of those and at least 50 were killed outside while scorpion hunting . If you are a person that enjoys keeping your windows closed when the weather is nice outside, you have found your home. Opening the windows, especially in the evening and at night, will only invite more scorpions inside your apartment (15 is actually low because we keep our windows closed). Asking management to spray will be pointless, scorpions require direct contact of the spray in order to kill them. Spraying may take care of their food source (other insects) but even after spraying crickets remain everywhere. Some reviews claim that scorpions are rare and people exaggerate, not so, it is the norm for this community. If you like surprises, I can t recommend a better place to live in. Every month you will be surprised with your water bill, they closely resemble your electric bill, you may average around $60 per month for ONLY the water portion, to that add sewage, trash and other fees. Keep in mind that your apartment has a sub-meter and you know exactly what you consume. You will complain to management and they will blame the City of Chandler, claim they don t know why or we just work here as a cop out. If the water bill said City of Chandler then it would be correct, but the don t, they say NWP. NWP is a third party billing company contracted by the complex and Archon Management to back charge tenants, supposedly, their own water consumption. Good luck if you want to find out what you are paying for, no matter who you call or talk too, you will not get a straight and truthful answer, they will all be evasive about the issue and the overcharges you are getting. If you are seriously thinking of moving here make sure that water/sewage/trash is included in the rent and no other added charges will be sent to you each month. If the lease states you will receive a separate water bill, STAY AWAY (unless you like to give away your hard earned dollars for others to greatly profit from).
If you like to meet new people, you will be able to do that here also. There is a high turnover rate here, you will continually meet new people, and the reasons for this are, you guessed it, scorpions, water bills, charging higher rents to current tenants at renewal than they do to new ones and management. They are desperate to fill vacancies so you may get a better deal than current tenants on rent, and who knows, they may include water now. If you have your doubts about all these facts, walk around the complex during your initial visit (without complex employees present) and talk to tenants that have lived there for sometime and can't leave because they are tied to a lease. Most are waiting for the lease to expire in order to move out. Finally, a few tips to make your stay better. Buy a black light and a long extension cord so you can more easily find scorpions inside and outside your apartment. Keep windows and doors closed during spring, summer and fall to avoid more scorpions invading your research lab (you may not see any during winter). Take care when moving boxes in the store room or when you take them out on your "I can't wait to get out of here" date (you realized the above is true and you made a mistake), scorpions hide there. Keep the Poison Control phone number handy, you may need it if you, or a family member, is stung by a scorpion. Check your patio furniture (or whatever you may have in the patio) for black widow nests often, especially if they are toys. If you have small children, walk by the pools and check the gates, they often don't close (pools have been closed by the City of Chandler because of this). If after all this you still decide to sign the lease, good luck!!!....and don't complain...I told you so.

Nice blog.... but people like you should clean their house, pest and rodents are only problems to people who are mess and dont clean. I have seen 1 scorpion in the year that i have lived here. roaches only at the start of summer, when they are expected anywhere. Your kids probably were mad at you and tagged your car, might want to take them to chucky cheese. You probably were the one who hit the gate coming home drunk and parts for those arent always easy to find or fix. Please do us a favor and move out.

Chances are the response to Nice If.... came from Apartment management. There are scorpions and bugs such as roaches. I do have a clean apartment and constantly am steam cleaning the floors. I use the same commercial pesticide to treat the inside of my apartment that the professionals use. It is true what is said about managment and the water bill. I believe it is now taken care of after several months but lets hope it remains this way. Who knows if previous tenants who were overcharged got their money back after they left. If you like to party this is the place. The pool in the back of the complex is "party central" on the weekends and holidays. There are people there yelling, screaming, drinking alcohol, and never room for our children. Most of the people at these parties do not even live in the complex, take all of the parking spots, and leave all of their trash everywhere. Let's not forgot the fire alarm that is CONSTANTLY on for the last two weeks. I love getting up at 1,3, and 5 in the morning because of this alarm. Thank you Dobson Towne Center for your prompt response and not resolving it. We are only here because we have to be right now... I can not wait to move out when the time is right.... This place sucks.
