Counting down the days to my move out!!!!!

I have never taken out the time to write commentary on an apartment; this is my first time so here goes. I relocated to this beautiful, wonderful hidden treasure of a state with the intention of a better quality of life my me and my husband (newlyweds). I call it a hidden treasure because when you come from 9 months of cold and darkness and only 1 "real" month of hot weather, you will greatly appreciate the weather, the scenery, etc. I accepted a job transfer and we moved here. I had viewed Hohokam online plus I already had friends who had been living here for 3 months prior to my move in and we have similar tastes. I was being adventurous because I liked the pictures and I wasn't used to living somewhere that had a pool, fitness center etc. That was a big deal b/c again we moved here from somewhere that it would be a joke to have a pool.
Needless to say, everything was fine until about 2 months ago. Other than when we first moved in, I never really needed anything from the staff. I have even paid months in advance, I am a pretty quiet tenant. So you would think that you would value a tenant like myself but I guess they figure once they have you locked you will have to pay an arm and leg to get out of it. They must've have been desperate for tenants because suddenly pets were allowed'' No big deal, most apartments allow pets. Fine. Then they started letting whoever live here!!!! People are rolling up, bumping music and it's like the song continues when they get to their unit which happens to be beneath me. I called about noise regarding a drum set. First off, why in the heck would you have a freaking drum set in an apartment'' GET A HOUSE!! I called the office and simply asked was it okay to have a drum set and disturb other units. I was told that I could go and confront the neighbors. That was obvious! As if I hadn't figured that I could do that on my own. When these "newbies" moved in all types of random trash would be out in the parking lot area and they would also sit trash outside of their door for days (6 to be exact). I called the office about the noise and the trash and I never got a response back'' I was SHOCKED! I not only spoke about the noise again, but the grounds that tenants and visitors have to view! I have to be at work most mornings by 5:30-6 o'clock so bumping music that shakes the floor at 9:45 p.m. is unacceptable. I understand quiet hours start at 10 p.m. but damn! have consideration for others, your music does not have to be that loud!!!! So loud to the point where I had to knock several times before this kid (looks like he just graduated from high school) answered the door and said he was in the shower and couldn't hear. No, he couldn't hear because the music was so damn loud. After getting him to turn the music down, I called the office and told them what I did and how I was very disappointed that they had ignored my other complaint. I asked them to give me a call and let me know how much it will cost to get up out of here!!! No one has called me back yet!!!!! Now that I have calmed down and read some of the online reviews, I am just kicking myself for not looking more closely at my decision to move here.
But the online reviews have answered a lot of things for me. I NOW know what my car would be dirty/dusty as hell b/c of the blowers that maintenance uses. And YES THE POOL INCIDENT DID HAPPEN SEVERAL TIMES. Remember my friends that lived here before I did' They weren't the ones that made the complaint but one of the pool incidents woke them up at 3 a.m. I can't wait to tell them to check out this site. They have moved into a house now but I am sure they will make a comment as well. Plus, I didn't have roaches or ant(my friends had those) I had BEES coming in through the vents. They fixed the problem and to their credit they did call and let me know that I was hallucinating about the bees but their were several dead bees in my apartment when I returned home from work that day. I really didn't appreciate the backtalk regarding the bees and I should have suspected something then but I didn't.
Flat out, apparently this is a good place for college kids and those that don't work, but if you have to be at work before 9 a.m. you will want to live somewhere else. TRUST ME!

WOW that is surprising about the college kids. when i was living there, there were ZERO people in their early 20s. this was the quietest place that i have lived my whole life and miss it a lot. well, maybe now i dont miss it all that much. also, when i lived there, they did allow cats but no dogs. are you referring to "pets" as "dogs" or "cats".
regarding your loud neighbor. you dont know what kind of measures the apt complex took with him re: noise ordinance and while it is unfortunate that this young man has obviously no consideration, that is just part of apartment living and sounds like you were one of the unluckies that got stuck with a lousy neighbor.
i still stand by my review and say that the hoho on highland was an oasis and i miss it a lot!!!

I have lived in Hohokam for 3 years and totally understand where you are coming from. When I moved here there was different management and they were very understanding and everything was taken care of the minute you would call. That has completely changed with the managagement we have now and I have gotten the smart-as* backtalk from the manager on more than one occasion. And things never get taken care of right away...it takes a few visits to the office before that happens. When I moved here Hokokam had a 100% rating and it has dropped to 70% for a good reason. I plan on moving out when my lease is up because of the manager and problems I have had ever since she has started working here. Be very careful when choosing this complex.

Thank you for your response. I will also move out when my lease is up. The manager at the new place is wonderful, she basically guaranteed me that noise is not an issue. She said that she would NEVER ask a tenant to confront another one because it is unprofessional and it is HER job, not mine, to make sure that my living experience is pleasant. I loved her attitude, she appears to be very professional and I cannot wait until my lease is up. Good luck with your search of a new place.
