A mixed review- Some good, some bad

We moved here in April from NY. We set everything up over the phone with -----. GREAT woman. She was on top of everything. After we moved in, a few minor repairs needed to be done, she got them taken care of ASAP.
There are a few bad apples living here, (as in any community). Outside my window to the parking lot, there's a drug deal almost every night. There's some creepy guy that sits under the shaded parking areas. There's a few neighbors that we have heard fighting, both yelling and hitting. The cops have come through. Our downstairs neighbor is nice, but she doesn't clean up after her dog too often so when it gets really hot, it stinks! Needless to say, we don't let our kids play too long outside. After about a half hour to 45 minutes and no later than 7.. and we're inside.
I agree, the landscaping is outrageous. It'll be 6am and they're there, making a racket.
I had called for a few maintenance repairs about a month ago... and they STILL haven't been done. I understand they get taken care of in order of importance, but come on.. a month of straight emergency calls' It's not ---------- fault (the maintanance guy), he's nice. One of the big problems is the balcony. It's completely dry rotted. The paint they have is peeling. It's filthy! There's a decent size hole in the corner. I'm expecting that if the dry rot gets any bigger, the board is going to become unstable and might fall! I really don't like the kids out there. The lattuce (sp) work around the rail is AWFUL! It's falling apart everywhere!
The greatest thing about this community was -----. She left and now we're leaving. The new leasing agents don't really care about anything. My husband and I both lost our jobs shortly after getting here (spending every last penny moving from NY). ----- cared. She helped us come up with a plan, offered us options & even told us how to get help from community resources. The new people are AWFUL! I asked the new woman to speak with her supervisor and get back to me. That was a week ago and I haven't heard anything.
It's not only us, just last night we heard three more tenants talking about leaving.
One nice thing... the pools. They're pretty nice. The small one isn't that great, but the bigger one is good. There's a little shaded area, a bunch of chairs and access to a restroom (super important with the kids).
On another note, our electric bill is around 190/month! We keep the lights off and the AC between 82 and 84. I credit the large bill to ancient appliances! When we use the stove, the whole apt. heats up! We bought energy efficient fans to try and reduce the number of times the AC kicked on. We replaced the AC filter every 30 days... nothing. It's CRAZY to pay that much for 980 sq. ft. of living space.
I wouldn't recommend Lakeside Village. There are a million complexes in the surrounding area. You can MOST DEFINITELY find a better one.
