I recently moved from this complex after living there 3 years.

The first 2 years were great, the last year was awful, but most of my issues were due to where I lived.

I paid extra for a view of the lake in the back of the complex.

Looks pretty, but you don't realize that the ducks and the geese wake you up at 4am and are LOUD, and they poop all over the sidewalks (which isn't cleaned up on any sort of a schedule).

This area also attracts birds (grackels) which roost in the trees, so they also poop (on your head and on the sidewalk).

There is a terrible stray cat problem in that part of the complex.

My neighbor fed the stray cats and the birds, leaving food and milk on the sidewalk only to attract ants.

The office was alerted to all of this but they didn't do anything about it.

My neighbor was extremely annoying and nosy, and I could hear him yelling at his wife through the walls.

The people below me would open their front door, let their dog run around for 10 minutes and poop wherever, then open the door and let the dog back in, never actually going outside with the dog to clean up after it.

(So be careful walking thru the grass!)

Having said that, the complex is very beautifully maintained (except for the duck poop), the maintenance guys are really nice and efficient, Ocotillo is a great area and close to everything you'd need.

The office ladies are really nice, and other than the items listed above, took care of all of my requests.

Mine was a personal choice to leave but I think if you lived in a different part of the complex you would have a different experience than I did.

The quality of the people living in this complex seems to have gone downhill in the last year also, so you might want to just walk around the complex during the day and at night and see who your neighbors will be before you rent.

Safety was never an issue, and the whole water thing is overblown.

I can recall twice when they shut off the water in 3 years.

They also provide free pest control if you need it; I never did, except for the ants (see above).

Overall, I would recommend living here, just maybe not by the lake.

Don't whine about stray cats because they are EVERYWHERE, in EVERY neighborhood because PEOPLE dump them. No matter where you go. They abandon them with no regard. Don't blame innocent animals for living. What do you want ? It's not their fault they are homeless.

There is no "terrible cat problem". Sounds like the reviewer is just a cat hater. Yes there are a few cats around and they might even belong to the people that live here. There may be a few strays. There are dogs here too ! And birds ! And ducks ! If you hate nature then go live in an inner city.

I lived there for a few years and there was a stray cat problem and it was near the lake. There was probably 5-6 stray cats living there at the time I lived there. My wife used to name them when we took our dogs for walks.
