The water service at Pillar is run by some company called Comptrol Technologies. It all seems very suspicious to me. The water bill rates are based on the size of your apartment (in square feet) and by how many people occupy the apartment. It's a flat rate. However, every month for some odd reason the rates are raised. Your bill goes up by about 75 cents a month. They also raise the administrative fee 50 cents twice a year. Right now I am paying $31.00 a month for the water bill. For water' That's a outrageous. Also, when paying your bill, you're supposed to make the check payable to Pillar at Pecos Springs, not Comptrol. Or you have the option of including the amount of your water bill in your rent check. There is no mailing address on your bill for Comptrol, and you mail your bill to the office. Obviously it doesn't take a genious to figure out that Comptrol Technologies is actually some phony business made up by Pillar. It's some sort of monopoly they run. They are ripping the tenants off and it's really wrong. How many more times are they gonna raise my bill' By the time I'm ready to move out of here I'll probably be paying $60.00 a month for water. I can't wait to leave!

Comptrol is an outside company that apartments employ to monitor and bill residents' for water. They don't provide and sell the water to residents. I live in Albuquerque, NM at a complex not owned by Pillar and am also billed by Comptrol and pay the water bill ammount to my apartment manager. I don't know why this person is so suspicious. Apartments use Comptrol to monitor and read water usage because it is easier and cheaper than doing it in house.

Well, whatever. The water service is a bunch of crap. The rates are based on how many tentants occupy the dwelling and the size of the dwelling. So it doesn't matter if you're trying to conserve water or not, your bill will always be a set amount. I could wash my dishes with a trickle of water or run the tap full blast for 10 hours, it doesn't make a dime's worth of difference. I guess Pillar doesn't care about the environment. |
