Very nice looking place... until you get moved in, just didn't work out for me and my roommate. Lack of parking... at times, we would have to park on the total opposite side of the complex and hop 2 fences just to get home. gated community. People park in your covered spot and community does nothing about it. they tell you to call the towing number on the carport. So i did....guess what they said.... I'm sorry, we are no longer under contract with Pillar at Pecos, nothing we can do... Another thing...walls are paper thin... i would hear the guy next door at 7am yelling at his kids to get out of bed and get to school. UGH!!!! Also, we lived on the 2nd floor... the insulation was so bad for noice, we could hear the downstairs neighbors stereo every day... BOOM BOOM BOOM!!! Speaking of insulation.... did i mention our electric bill ran almost 200 dollars a month during the summer. also If you are a family... that is cool... but the Washer/Dryer is in the master bedroom. Well, you can imagine how that works out if you work opposite shifts. The biggest pain in the rear was the Cable/Internet service. I can't even tell you how horrible this was. First... NO COX!!! ugh! There is a direct TV dish on the top of each building and that is the service you have to use. Here is the thing...QWEST owns the dish and charges you 5.95/month to use it. On top of it, QWEST charges you 5.00/ a month to rent the direct tv box from them. you need a converter box for each tv you want cable on. 3rd, if you want more than 1 tv hooked up in the apartment, you have to buy phone service from QWEST to make the direct tv update and work properly. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ Next is the Internet service. Sure, it is high speeds, but it is a fragmented T1 line that is share between the whole community. If you use the internet at 3am... you are ok.. but sometimes i had problems streeming 300k. oh.. and.. for some wierd reason.. our internet kept getting unhooked. in the first 3 months, it went out for over 72 hours 4 times. Each time the service technician said it was because someone had unhooked it when another person moved in. Thankfully, the building filled up and didn't have to worry about that after the first 5 months, but... the connection still went down for hours at a time. If you call tech support, they tell you they can't do anything that they have to send a technician out. The technician is outsourced and is very limited with availabiliity. usually took at least 72 hours to get a tech. Finally, near the end of our lease, we got a letter giving us an offer for 2.5 free months if we resigned before dec. 15. it gave us the market rate of the apartment and even broke down what the new rent would be if we decided to span the 2.5 months savings across the new lease term to keep the monthly rent lower. Great!! It was gonna be lower than what we had been paying for the last year we lived there. It felt like we got most of the bugs worked out so we decided rather than to pack everything and move again, to take advantage of the offer. We went over to sign the new lease.......WAIT....It is 65.00/month higher than the information we were given. The assistant manager said... oh.. we have a copy too and we see that we mis-quoted you the market rate, and this price is what you will have to pay. OH NO!!!!! we told them we wanted the price they had quoted us on paper. They refused!!! We said at that point, we are giving our notice to move out the end of february.... note this is dec.15.....So... a little less than a month before we moved out, we get contacted by the office about our arrangements. They said we havent' received notice from you yet on whether you are staying...... I SAID>>> WHAT!!! don't you remember the problems we had when we were going to resign and didn't. we have given you 75 days notice that we are not renewing. The manager said... that doesn't count because you have to give 60 days notice and in writing. I told her we would be out by the end of february and she said she was going to charge us for the month of march whether we lived there or not. She actually threatend to file a judgement with the city of chandler against us for not paying. Funny thing is, and correct me if i am wrong... a place can't make you give more than a 30 day notice. even if that isn't correct.. what about our 75 day. Finally my roommate went in and I dont' know what he said but they finally said everything was ok. WOW!!!!! What a crazy fiasco. It is like this.... the icing is good but the cake tastes like poo poo. don't be fooled by the charm. you are in for a nightmare.

I agree with most of what you said. The apartments do suck. But not because of the management or the apartments themselves, but because of the tenants that live there. They are some of the rudest, inconsiderate jerks I've ever come across. They only care about themselves and have complete disregard and aboslutely no RESPECT. They act like their apartment is their own little private house and they can do what they please. It's like living in a dorm.

However, I don't know if you are aware of this, but when you give your notice to leave, it HAS to be in writing. It can't just be verbal. Also, it clearly states in the apartment's lease, that you have to give a 60 day notice. Make sure you've fully read the lease. It sounds like you didn't read it before you signed the papers and moved in. Chalk it up to being naive I guess. I always make sure I go over everything with a fine-toothed comb...cuz you never know what kind of surprises you might be in for later. When I first moved in, they didn't even provide me with a pre move-in check list to write down if there were any little things wrong with the apartment upon move-in (such as a small stain in the carpet, etc) I actually had to ask for one. Not only that, but I didn't pay any deposits because they were having a promotion at the time and waived them. If I hadn't gotten that check list, who knows what they would have charged me for upon move out, and plus I had no deposits to back me up just in case.

I don't know what this complex's obsession is with Qwest. Qwest phone, cable and internet is all they offer. I've had my internet go out 6 times in the past 18 months. And then they send over this repair tech that smells like farts and dirt and stinks up everything. Last time he was here his stench lingered a good two days and my computer chair smelled like ass.

Oh, and the apartment sections can only handle so many internet users at a time. Once they get "full" you aren't able to get internet service hooked up.
