3/17/2008 my mom went by here and raved about this place. I told her what I read and my concerns. The office girls say these are from disgruntled past tenants and none of it is true. If I caught someone in my place (maintenance, my God) I would shoot him. I cant believe that this is all made up. I am moving from the east coast, I lived in Scottsdale for 13 years so I am not new. Now I dont know what to do. All the reviews are bad.

I am the reviewer that had people breaking into my apartment. The only reason they didn't get shot, is one time we weren't home, and came home to our door open, and the other 2 times, my husband was in the shower, and sitting on the pot, and he thought it was me. My suggestion if you really need a place, is, obviously it depends on your budget, but find a house for rent. There are some houses now, 3bd 2 ba, that you can rent for the price of a 2 bd apt. and they're in nice neighborhoods. go on Craigslist and try to find a nice house. There are tons, especially in queen creek if you can live that far out.

People wouldn't be posting reviews if they weren't true. I can say based on my experiences and having lived here now for nearly several years that what you are reading IS true. The office staff is extremely rude - I won't go into more details as I still live here and fear for retaliation but you can guarantee I will be writing a review upon my move-out. There's so many other places to rent from, I'd strongly recommend another community with nicer office staff who actually care about their tenants or as the previous poster stated, rent a house. With the market these days, there are several out there.

I'd say that most everything is true. -- Yes -- for what reason would people take the time to write negative stuff? -- I love the part where the office people say that NONE of it is true...yeah, right. -- I'd laugh if it wasn't so pathetic.

I know who the maint man is. He is the black guy. U need to catch him in the act; he prob lives close to u & is watching u.Why do u think he keeps targeting u?My friend was touring Pillar when she ran into him. He worked at her old complex & swears he stole all that was left when she was moving out. He lived across from her.He recognized her too & sped off. Small world, huh?Get smart & catch him, tie him up.Shame on Pillar for covering this up.Leave, then double back, get him

I've lived here for a year and the only serious problem I've encountered was a few scorpions. That's definitely not good, but nothing like what some other people have encountered. I never had any particular problems with the office staff, myself, and have never had anyone break in. (Just for the record, my door has a double-lock, and one of the deadbolts has no space for a key outside. No place is perfectly safe, but the maintenance person would have a difficult time making an easy entrance while you're home, if you locked both locks.) If you're already committed to coming here, I think you can probably be happy. I am content, and I've never felt that I was in any danger. From what I've seen of apartments in this area, they are almost ALL poorly-rated, so for better or worse, this one probably isn't worse than average. I certainly don't know of any that are better--in fact, the first apartment I came to was well-rated by this site but then turned condo and turned outright awful. :( I do agree that IF you want a house, you can definitely get one for a competitive price. But of course you could get a poor or absentee landlord renting out a house, so it's all a roll of the dice. Good luck!

I currently live there so I have not written a review. The office staff was extremely honest about the scorpion situation before I moved in so I trusted the leasing agent when she said there were no reported scorpion problems in my building. I've only seen one scorpion so far (*knock on wood*), and that was outside, by the gym. I can't really fault them for that. HOWEVER, a situation occurred recently that was not properly taken care of, and I will be writing about that once I move out. This is a matter of safety and the office staff/maintenance have done nothing to rectify it. I have also seen quite a few police around. One time I came home to find four cop cars and a forensics van in the parking lot. My advice to you is to ignore complaints like "THERE IS SO MUCH NOISE!", because as annoying as it is, THAT is a part of apartment living. You really want to be looking for reviews that describe safety situations or the way office staff responds to things. There are a lot of smart reviews out there, you just have to sort through the whining to find them.

In my experience, the office staff has been very helpful and attentive. They have never been rude to me. There is a scorpion problem and I am not sure if it is worse here, than elsewhere...although the only place I have ever seen a scorpion is at Pillar. We do live in the desert...but it does seem odd that so many people have reported problems. I have never had a problem with maintenance and they always fix things quickly.

Current resident as well. Have had issues with office staff being rude. Have had issues with the noise levels. Especially if you live in a first or second floor unit, the people above you will annoy the hell out of you. At least the one above me does. I work nights sleep days and they have two dogs up there which thump bump and jump constantly. Not to mention you can hear the neighbors when they have sex, which can be comical at time.
