Everyone who has posted is absolutely accurate w/ exception of the no fault reviews... why would someone take the time to post a positive review about their complex'''' I have to agree with the fact that this is probably one of the nicest areas in the valley - good shopping, schools, parks and restaurants. Me and my family love this neighborhood. However as every other reviewer has posted - the manager is far from business oriented. Unfortunately I suppose she has no patience or willingness to keep the apartments rented. Me and my wife have been experiencing some financially difficult times - job loss, IRS garnishment, death in the family - the whole nine yards. We read the reviews soon after moving in due to the fact that on our move in date we saw first hand how heartless the manager was - she went as far as to put down the Assistant Manager right in front of us because of the shoes she was wearing. We brushed it off and went on enjoying our experience but then we were notified that our water bill was four months past due, when we moved in we were told that we could pay our water bill directly thru them and so always included it in our monthly rental amount... manager says this is not the case and went as far as to treat my 27 year old wife with 9 years rental experience like she was 13, to the point of gesturing with her hands. After that we had a broken toilet float on our master bath toilet - unfortunately the toilet was filling so fast it was leaking all over our bathroom floor and were forced to manually fill for three days. I finally went in there with the broken part and asked for a replacement so I could fix myself - she blatantly told me (friday mind you), you are going to have to wait until monday and that I would have to call the repair line with my request. Rather then conflict with her I told her I would just replace myself but was unable to locate the part and ended up dealing with it until the following wednesday. Today was the mountain topper though and I must say I feel good hoping that we get to spend a day in court together. Rent was due on a Sunday, mind you me and my family attend church and sports functions with my children on saturdays and sundays. I came in on Sunday afternoon to pay and the staff was out of the building so we chose to just return later in the day to take care of it. Unfortunately we ran late and were unable to catch them - our fault... I guess. Also mind you that you have to have a key in order to get into the pool area to put it in the drop box in the back, my wife lost her keys the first month so were out on that one. So $50 was added to our rent for being 14 hours late, again no problem. I signed the 5 Day Notice acknowledging we were late and was promptly informed that if they did not have the $50 within six days that they were going to turn it over to their attorneys... thats right, we are being evicted for not promply paying our $50 late fee which is of no loss to the community especially after we called the week before to advise them that due to our financial situation we would have to pay half on time and the other half on the 16th and it was approved. Rather then pay the $50 late fee I was able to get a personal loan from work to make it on time but it took an extra day for the funds to post, so we tried to pay the full amount rather then half and now we are going to be evicted because there is no way that I can afford to repay. Unfortunately if we would have dealt with the assistant manager we would not be in this position but the manager is all about turn around numbers and not keeping residents happy. What she doesnt know is that she will not get this months rent, we will move and when she sues us for the amount due she will find herself attending my bankruptcy proceedings to try to reclaim the funds due and hitting a wall when its rightfully discharged. Landlord sharks will soon find out that they can not continue to take advantage of disadvantaged people and I will do everything in my power to get the word out so other people do not become victims of her abusive personality - she refuses to work with anyone regardless. Also there have been a lot of recent thefts, one to my neighbor just a week ago. If ------ ------- is no longer manager please take the time to see this place its a fair place for the area!!!

Lived here?

To begin with you are a coward; you post Ms. -------'s name and blame her for your misfortunes without having the courage to identify yourself. My name is ------------- and I've lived here and known Ms. ------- for three years (I see you've been here for.... wait, I can't tell how long you've lived here)and she and her entire staff have always been very professional and courteous. She is one of the main reasons my daughter and I decided to move into this complex. We looked at several other apartments but Ms. ------- made us feel like this was home. Let me clue you in on how things work, Sparky. The Fair Housing Act and her corporate office not only do not let Ms. ------- treat you differently than other renters she will be punished her if she does! Do you think that since you "have been experiencing some financially difficult times" (by the way you forgot the old dog ate my homework excuse) that you do not need to pay rent? And you think this is HER call? Grow up, if she let you slide some other whiny cry baby would find out and corporate would fire her. The truth is if this were up to Ms. ------- she would cut you and others like you some slack. She can't so deal with it. OK, your toilet problem. The exact same thing happened to me (well mine didn't leak all over the floor as I was smart enough to turn off the water, I guess)and I followed the work order procedures (explained in your rent package or did your wife lose that too?)and it was fixed within 24 hours. I have also had two AC problems (fixed within 2 hours) and my water heater blew up (fixed within 12 hours)all resolved by following procedures set up by the corporate office, not mean old Ms. -------. Am I upset that I have had this many problems in three years? No, these are older units which is part of their charm. Each issue was fixed promptly and professionaly. Lesson? Play by the rules and things will get done. Now about that pesky rent date. All renters are given a due date of the 1st of each month and a cushion of a couple days to get it in. By the way this month's rent was due on the 1st (as always) and late fees applied after the 4th which was Saturday, not Sunday. You may have missed the large blue sign posted by the mailboxes letting everyone who looked know that late fees would apply starting at the end of the day Saturday. You were charged a late fee because you were, how do I put this...LATE! I could go on (can't pay rent on time because of Church and children's sports events, your lies about half rent being approved with no charges, your thinly veiled accusation that somehow Ms. ------- is responsible for a theft at your neighbors.. hmmm.... your neighbor, Huh?..etc.)but as I read this I realize that no matter what Ms. ------- and good people like her do for you it will never be enough and your "difficult times" will always be someone else's fault; never yours. You really show the type of person you are in your opening statement that "why would someone take the time to post a positive review about their complex". The answer is really very simple; not everyone is as negative and thoughless as you are. -------------

Move to Ocotillo Springs across the street.. they are the best office and maintenance crew EVER. I lost my job and they are waiting for my rent from an organization that will be paying it.. and ... I didn't even get a 5 day notice.. they want to help those in need of a little extra time especially in this economy.. they also fix things IMMEDIATELY, especially something like your issue.. sorry you chose the wrong complex :) rental box should be OUTSIDE of gates like ours is and they would have NEVER charged you that fee under your circumstances!!! I can't say enough nice things about the all the staff here at Ocotillo Springs! I am so glad I did not choose PQC.. come across to us when your lease is up! :) When you choose an apt complex you must always make sure the staff is nice as that is more important than how much you like the apartment!
