BRE Service is a joke. Yes, they have online maintanence request service, but it doesn't mean that you'll get any attention. I had bees (to which I am DEATHLY allergic) living on my porch (right above my stairs) so that I couldn't go outside until they decided to move somewhere else. My request was "put on hold" or BRE terms for "not important enough to do anything about". Then, last month, I had an ant infestation. They were marching right in through my second story door. Once again, BRE put the request on hold and only when I threatened them with not paying my rent (which by Arizona law, if I deem the residence to be unlivable due to circumstances that BRE controls, such as bugs, I am under no obligation to pay my rent and I can break my lease without any penalties) did they finally send someone to spray, a grand total of 2 and a half weeks after I told them about the problem. The rent here is really steep for what you get. I would go with Mark Taylor, they actually have people who pay attention to your issues and don't put your emergency requests on hold . . . It's honestly not worth the effort. One Saturday morning, the building across from mine had no water. It took the office hours before they did anything about that. I had neighbors coming in and out of my apartment getting water for themselves and their kids. Is this something you want to deal with' I don't think so. Even if you like this area, there are other, better places to rent. I can't wait for my lease to be up in two months so I can get out of here.
