We moved to AZ from Toronto, Canada in Oct. 2006 and San Tierra was one of the apartments we immediately fell in love with. We rented a 1 bed & 1 bath apartment, on the 2nd floor near the back pool and moved out in April 2008. We would have totally stayed in the same complex, however we were offered 2 months free at another Mark-Taylor on a 3 bedroom apartment.
The location is great! It's really close to the 101, CVC, Dentists office, Albertsons, Mobil, Whole Foods, Starbucks(yes, I know it's very important to have one around), Desert Breeze and Windmills Park. There's also a Basha's and Trader Joe's about 5min. away.

The overall layout of the apartment and complex is excellent, we had a 1 bedroom and it was very roomy, even with a baby! It's easily accessible and there is always parking available. The only problem for us was the fireplace...I just wish it was never there! Also, the windows are old school and they need to have a double pane windows, preferable even tinted! ALSO, the front pool should be heated, but it hasn't been since December...however, we never complained about it, we just used the jacuzzi instead

Noise: You can definitely hear kids on their skateboards and we had to complain to our neighbor downstairs because their tv was too loud...however, I expected this coming from Toronto. You can also hear when the downstairs people took a shower...and I'm sure they could hear us every time we stepped on certain places on the floor since they made a sound!

Maintenance: When we first we moved here the maintenance guys were fantastic, very friendly fast, professional and always made sure to see whatever needed fixing was in fact fixed. They would always wave and say hello everytime you would pull up or leave. Then from my understanding, they left (new employment) and then they hired new people, they are not as great as the last guys, however they still do a decent job. It just seems like one of them is doing the majority of the work so it is a bit slow.

Staff: Again, when we first moved in it seemed like the staff was very friendly and if they were outside the office would always greet you and very good at replying to ur questions. I find that now some of the staff are not so friendly while the other is still very friendly. However, they are professional and get your requests, questions, anything answered quickly.

Like already mentioned, we love this place and even though it is older, the community is great! I'm a stay-at-home mom so for me this was great since I was able to do a lot of walking around the complex, park, grocery store, coffee without feeling scared of the crazy traffic on Ray...the building has a back entrance that you can just walk out to the near by houses and it can lead u to Windmills park, & cvs. The neighbors are friendly. We decided that sharing a 1 bed. with a 1 year old was getting too much for us, so we decided for a 3 bedroom. We decided to leave complex since we were offered a really good deal, however staff didn't seem to care. We did get a letter regarding some bonuses we can get if we were to extend our lease, which was great, however, they should have also included in there any bonuses if u wanted to switch to a BIGGER size place...I don't know why they didn't do it since we were already there for 1.5 years and the likelihood of us leaving from a 3 bedroom in less than 2 years until we purchase a house is very very slim..oh well!
I definitely recommend this place!! The gym is great, it has 2 big screen tvs, sauna, free weights. U can also rent FREE movies!
