Nervous to move out....

So, I have been reading all the reviews in the last little while and I must say that I am getting very scared and nervous to move out of here. We are almost ready to move and we really don't want to be charged for carpet replacement. I think it is really sad that they are doing this to everyone here. It sounds like even if you don't have pets they will still charge you thousands for new carpet. We can't afford to shell out thousands for carpet that doesn't even need to be replaced! We don't have any pets, and we haven't had any problems since we have lived here, but I am really scared for when we move out. Can everyone who has gone through moving out of here let me know how they charged everyone after they moved out' Did they walk-thru with you at the end of the contract and say everything is ok, and then send you a bill' I am just curious so we know what to expect when the time comes. Thanks for the helpful reviews! vWhRVi5nYYIuEh4W7K3l

Run fast, and be prepared to pay. It will be worth it. You will be out of that evil, ill managed place and will be better for it. They are doing the same thing to everyone because they can get away with it. The only good thing is that HOPEFULLY people will read these posts and decide NOT to move there. Should be a HUGE sign that reads " RENTER BEWARE".

We had a 1 bedroom, and they charged us $1000 for the carpet replacement. I didn't do the walk through with them because I didn't know that I could! They just told me they would call me, which they didn't. I know other people though have had the walk throughs go fine, then get a bill later because they have some carpet guy come out seperately and give his recommendations (and he seems to like replacing carpet).

Make the manager walk the apartment with you before you move out, and if she says anything about it needing to be replaced make her explain it to you, if you still don't believe her have her call her carpet people and have them tell you. If she says she's not going to charge you make sure you get it in writing! Trust me, making her physically walk the apartment with you will make it less likely for her to charge you. Don't take "no" for an answer, MAKE HER WALK THE APARTMENT WITH YOU!
