Plumbing Hell; High management turnover

My hot water heater flooded my bedrooms frequently. Our kitchen sink leaked constantly.
The closet doors were cheesy and broke all the time. The (electric) stove and oven required psychic ability.
Cars were vandalized frequently. They used to have a security patrol, but that went away without notice.
The landscaping started out nice, but went downhill every year after that. It's brown and ugly. The evergreen bushes in the back are unkempt...only does the front of the place look nice.
The management used to have fun little activities for the tenants, but that went away, too.
The neighbors are awful. They drag shopping carts home and leave them everywhere. Kids are left out to run about freely in the courtyard. Dog owners don't clean up after their pets. The ones who don't let their dogs go in the courtyard go up into the stand of trees behind the buildings and just leave the dog crap there. Don't go for a walk in the woods.
While the bedrooms were spacious - some of the largest in Flagstaff - the buildings are old and the doors don't work right. The carpets were old.
The windows aren't double-paned, so there were some serious drafts. The heating system uses the hot water heater to also provide baseboard heating.Don't take a long shower in cold weather...the temperature of the apartment drops drastically. We didn't have to pay utilities, but it was cold all the time...especially when it was below zero outside!
The phone lines are ancient...dialup internet service was slow. When we moved, our kbps went up from 38 to 52!
Management when I left was oblivious by choice. Maintenance requests weren't answered quickly. Noice disturbances weren't dealt with ("Call the police" was what I got). While the property went to hell, the manager's office was refurbished with expensive-looking furniture and new carpet.
UPS refuses to go door to door; they leave every package at the office...if it's after hours when you get home from work, then too bad, you have to wait.
The laundry room is supposed to be tenant-only, opened with a key, but the newer tenants let their trashy relatives come over from across the street at the little slum apartments...they mess up the machines or steal clothes and sometimes take your time (they take your wet clothes out of the dryer, throw them on the counter or the floor, then put their own clothes in...effectively stealing the drying time you paid for!!).
The neighborhood stinks - repeat (armed) robberies of the Subway sandwich store (and the resulting helicopter & door-to-door police searches), trashy slummy row houses across the street full of people who park their cars on the sidewalks so nobody can use them, and plenty of homeless people trying to build nests behind dumpsters - begging cigarettes or money off of people walking by.
The barbecue grills are either MIA or missing equipment.
There were often odd people just sitting in the courtyard for hours on end...every day. Then there were the door-to-door tamale salesmen (don't get me started).
THE BIG REASON WE LEFT, however, was a rather steep rent increase - given with only 30 days notice (the EXACT same required notice for moving out). A lot of people moved out then. They had signs out reading "Now Leasing" for a long time.
