I lived here from 2006-2008. Overall, I think CCV was a good place to live. My apartment was nice. I lived on the 2nd floor and couldn't hear my neighbors above or below me. The rent was ok for the size of the apartment. I liked that a lot of families live there. I liked that I had AC. One thing I didn't like so much was having over 20 managers in the time I lived there. I also HATED the dog food smell. Upon moving out they were pretty fair. I actually got some of my deposit back. I would recommend CCV for an 'east side' apartment. It has a nice family/community environment where people say, "Hi" when they see you.
