Not suitable living conditions

While offering inexpensive housing in Flagstaff, the rent is quite high for the living conditions. The staff is quite friendly however they tend to brush off important complaints (noise, water heater, kitchen problems, etc.). The most affordable living arrangement is in the 4 bedroom apartments however this arrangement places random strangers together with only a short and inefficient roomate profile to work from. Mature adults, ages 20 and up seem to be scarce and if you don't want to live in a loud, obnoxious building, don't apply to live here.

The buildings themselves are in disrepair and the design wastes interior space while boasting high vaulted ceilings. These spaces tend to enhance and accomodate loud music and the paper thin walls make a normal conversation audible to those in the next apartment. The entrance to most living quarters are exposed to the general public and those with windows next to the front doors cannot open them in the summer for fear of a break in. That combined with the lack of air conditioning makes for a very uncomfortable summer for most.

The design of the rooms make it virtually impossible to have your belongings set up in any way other than one particular placement. This dilemma places the bed next to the wall that one would share with the adjacent apartment making it impossible to sleep through a party or someone enjoying their bose stero system.

In order to expell unwanted neighbors from the premisis, you must call Flagstaff PD at 774-1414 and have them dispatch an officer. If you call for noise, the management will say that they need two police reports for whatever violation is being committed. However, the main comlaint is noise and they rarely issue a police report for that. So it is basically impossible to rid yourself of unwanted neighbors, who violate their lease repeatedly, unless you can somehow get them arrested.

In all, I am highly irritated and dismayed at the lack of enforcement of policy and I would like to see this place sold and placed under management who could do a better job and controlling the noise and quality of redsidents who live here.
