This place is an absolute nightmare. I was one the unfortunates who found this place through apartmentratings.com. I am one of many I have met here who did the same and normally I would be a bit too lazy to take any action like this towards something. However, the degree at which this place is absolutly horrible, I could stand and let other make the same mistake.
I moved in, in July 06 and at first until about after our move in the management staff was friendly. Once we had moved in and management knew they had us, they proceded to be very annoyed everytime we found another thing wrong with are apartment they would be very annoyed and sometimes took weeks for repairs to be made. One repair was never made to a toilet and months later the consequences were mostly suffered by me. One night while I slept, the toilet which would sometimes run or sometimes stop up for no reason combined to flood me out of my apartment for nearly a week. I have pictures to show what the result was and it is also my belief they tried to pin the accident on my roommate and myself but they could not. With in the first week of us living here, the showerhead above us which was incorrectly installed, caused a leak which led to our apartment, resulting in my roommate having no ceiling above his bathroom for a week. Our dishwasher almost falls out of the counter everytime we use it. Oh yes, to save money on the flood, they decided to install the carpet themselved, and I ended with a threshold to my room, and the carpet looks like junk. There is a quarter inch gap everywhere it butts up to the wall. The storm strip fell off our door eventualll as a result of the flood and the one the replaced it with causes out door to not close correctly and it is very difficult for two grown men to lock the deadbolt. As of now half of our doorknobs do not work but we have become so dissenchanted with the management and mainenance we have given up reporting problems.
Noise. I wake up every morning at 4:30am everymorning not because have to or want to, but because the man above me gets up every morning at the time and because of the poor construction of the house and because of his size I hear everything. I hear his kids kicking and screaming and their mother yelling at them. I get up early in morning often when the mother decides to blast her music and the bass and music passes through out walls making impossible to ignore. Once my girlfriend who was staying the night thought it was my roommate in the next room however it was her inconciderate ass upstairs in another apartment. Not to avoid sharing any truths from you, My roommate and I have been evicted for noise complaints. These comlaints we had no knowledge of because nobody ever had the courage to come and talk to us. We have made every effort to be good neighbors and in my opinion we were. We both always said to people in passing, stopping to talk whenever we could, and at no point did we ever decide to blast our Tvs and music because we did not want to disrupt others. However, appearently we were and like I said nobody, no neighbors, no member of the staff here ever came to us unless t was to deliver notices of warnings or our eviction. Upon our warning, we made a conscious effort to lower our stuff, and to the admission of the same man making the complaints, we had made efforts to appease everyone. Then we got evicted because his cowardice, he never talked to us. For months our lives, our sleep was disrupted by them and they got us evicted and it seems as though management is retaliating against us for some reason, my guess is that they could not pin the flood on us. Again, nobody ever came to our door to let us know of the problem unless it was to hand us documentation of the ass pounding we are now recieving.
Other reasons not to move here:
1. Hot water heaters are tiny and give less than 5 minutes of hot water.
2. THis place boasts to hot tubs, there is one and it is broken a lot.
3. The laundry room is often full and you can only count on doing laundry at odd hours, there are only four pairs.
4. When it snows, the hill on which this place sits, is usually too iced up top drive up.
5. Management will not confront you with any problem unless they have a bill for you, a warning, or some policy to hide behind. Nobody works with you.
6. This building is over twenty years old and while I recognize in this city many buildings are much older, this building was not maintained well and now they are playing catch up, trying to catch all the things that are breaking.
7. The stairs are incredibly unsafe for children.
8.The redwood trim is not redwood, it is rough cut lumber that has been stained. (if it matters to you)
Once again I would like to be truthful and say I have been evicted. I am sorry if the tenor of this note sounds vindictive. It may be a little but at this point I have been left with no legal avenues to vent my frustration at this place. We have been treated poorly and now as a result of people being to big of cowards to talk to us we are being kicked out and forced to pay almost $1500 dollars in just the eviction. So keep that in mind if you fall on the bad side of your neighbor or staff. If you have any other questions please contact me via email at claymoreandhammr@aol.com. Ummm... I live next to you. You constantly threatened people. Your music played until 3 in the morning, and everytime someone confronted you about the problem you told them to **** off. I love this place, and the fact that management has taken the steps to evict you based on the NUMEROUS complaints about you, speaks volumes about their professionalism. For the record, their are more than 4 sets of washers. This guy obviously didnt walk to the other side where there are 8 more... a total of 12. I have never had a maintenance request last more than 2 days. The steps here are AWESOME! They are grated metal and the snow does not pile up on them. The hill can be a problem, but spend 20 bucks and get chains if you have too... its flagstaff. My little honda civic gets up the hill everytime. I have lived here 3 years, and the spa has been down for work maybe 3 times- for chemical treatment. Its obvious to me and many of the other residents that live here, that you're clearly looking for vengeance. Most of the tenants here are hard working QUIET people that cringe when the likes of you slip through the cracks and get a place here. My hats off to the management here.

Well, I am not exactly happy with this place either. There are only 5 washers and 6 dryers in our side of the complex. ( I am not going to lug my laundry back and forth from the other side of the complex) and the washers are often full, or out of order. The laundry room was often flooded in the winter, and snow removal efforts were not what they should have been. My maintenance requests have been properly dealt with, and I appreciate that. The laminate in the bathrooms was already coming off when we moved in, and has now come up even more. The amount that they want to hike the rent up to when you renew your lease is ridiculous. They are tiny 2 bed places, without even a coat closet, storage closet, linen closet or anything. Very limited cabinet space in the kitchen. My apartment is north facing so the sun never hits the front of my apartment. This causes mold to grow all around the windows of the north wall in the apartment. I said something to the office, and they said the only way to deal with that is to wipe down the windowsill with bleach once a week!!! Ummm, no thank you. Weatherstripping here is not really exceptional. I can see sunlight from outside around the edges of the front door when it is closed, in the winter we put a towel in front of the door, because we can feel the breeze coming through it. I am not bothered by the noise, but I can hear everything the upstairs tenants are doing. One of the managers (though she is not there very often she is the main manager I believe) Miranda I think her name is, is very rude, snotty, and acusatory. While all the other office staff is great and very easy to get along with. The hill is very difficult to get up in the snow. Both of our cars, and older 1993 and a newer 2005 have had a lot of trouble getting home sometimes because of it. Snow chains are not the answer, they are a pain in the but, and tear up the roads because people keep them on even when the snow has been removed (although snow removal efforts all over flag are less than they should be) The maintenance guy is very friendly. It is a great neighborhood, just crappy apartments.
