Zero Customer Service!!!

Maybe I just dont understand the apartment management business! Community managers/ leasing agents are in the customer service industry right' They are there to lease apartments, take care of residents issues and make their company look good right'
Well that is what I thought, I was apparently mistaken!
When we went to find out about renting an apartment at Timberline Village we really should have trusted the first impression we got! When we first went in to get price quotes we talked with Pat one of the lasing agents. She was very sweet and genuinely wanted to help us out. We looked at a one bedroom with a den and it was beautiful! The price wasnt too bad either it was in the $750 range. We were pretty excited about the model we saw and we made the decision to rent there when our lease expired at our current place. We didnt have the money to hold an apartment at that time and we were about 3 months away from our lese expiration so we decided to come back when our lease was about up to put a deposit down.
About a month and a half ago we stopped back by the complex to put our deposit down to hold a unit. We arrived at about 11am on a Monday to find the office was closed and had a little hand made sign stating that they would reopen at 11:30am. We were inconvenienced by this but we just brushed it off. When we came back at noon the office still hadnt reopened. We decided to sit outside and wait till they opened. Pat finally came outside the office, took the sign down and let us in. We talked with her about holding the apartment we were interested in. We were told there were none available, apparently there were only twelve 1bed w/ den models on the property and none of them were vacating!! We felt disappointed because we really wanted the 1bed w/ den model but it was our fault for not holding the apartment when we first came and viewed the model.
So we decided to view a 2 bed model, it was more expensive but we really liked the spacious units and the amenities Timberline had to offer. We asked Pat if any 2bed units were available when we were looking to move in. She wasnt too sure how to check this so she asked a woman that was sitting in a back office. The womans reply was Yeah I know how to find that but I dont have time to show you! I couldnt believe my ears! This woman was actually letting a bunch of paperwork take precedence over some future residents sitting in the leasing office! How rude!!! We were sitting in plain view and she knew we could hear her response too! That is a perfect example of how much they care for their residents/ future residents! I am beginning to think we should have just walked out of the leasing office at that moment!
To make a long story short we ended up holding a 2 bed unit and were scheduled to move in about three weeks. We just got a call from Pat at the leasing office about a problem with our application. When we called back they could not tell us what the exact problem was with the application. They just knew that we needed to give them and additional $850 at move in or that we needed a cosigner on the lease. We asked for the phone number of the credit check company so we could call them ourselves and find out what the problem was. We were told they would call us back with the phone number. Today is day four and we still have not gotten a call back from them. We have left several phone messages with the leasing office, I emailed them and we even faxed them a letter. We havent gotten a single response! We are supposed to be out of our current place and in to our place at Timberline in about two weeks. We dont even know if we have a place to live because Timberline wont answer the phone when we call and they dont return calls! This is just my experience with Timberline in the last month that we have been dealing with them.
If you expect your apartment complex to actually help you with your issues and to be accountable and responsive to your needs I dont think this is the place for you!
