Not bad, a little overpriced

I've lived in Pine View Village for 6 months now. My experience here has not been awful, but I've seen better apartments at better prices. The one thing that keeps me here is the fact that all of your utilities (water, electricity, gas, and cable) except for internet is paid for through your rent, no matter how much you use. It's nice not to have to worry about bills coming in throughout the month.
The "1 bedroom" apartment is really a studio, and very tiny. I live by myself, and I still feel as if I'm bursting at the seams.
The neighborhood is not fabulous- it sits right across the road from a lovely trailer park. However, in my 6 months here, I've never felt unsafe. There is a police officer who walks the property every night. I've never observed anything out-of-the-ordinary going on. It is near the train tracks, but they personally do not bother me as I've lived near tracks for a very long time.
My experience with the staff has been fine. The maintenance people were quick to respond, and the office staff has been friendly.
Laundry is overpriced here- $1.25 to wash your clothes and $1 to dry them.
I haven't experienced a lot of troubles with noise except for leaf blowers and shoveling snow in the mornings. My neighbors (luckily!) have been very quiet.
My apartment had a new stove, new carpeting, and new vinyl when I moved in, so that was appreciated. However, the rest of the apartment is nothing to get excited about... you can tell the walls have been patched and painted over numerous times, and the counters in the bathroom and kitchen are quite worn.
The apartments have a serious lack of light! Bring lamps!
Another apartment I looked for was about $70 cheaper per month and included ALL utilities (including internet), had hardwood floors, a microwave, a dishwasher, and was an actual one bedroom. Unfortunately, they had no openings, so I was forced to go with my second choice. Compared to that apartment, this one is quite overpriced for what you get. You have to go buy your own microwave, there is no dishwasher, you have to pay for internet, and it certainly is not a 1 bedroom.
All in all, this apartment suffices for me while I go to school. If you don't mind living in a small place and want to be close to campus, then I would recommend Pine View Village.
