I have lived in U-West going on 4 years now so I think that my opinion and review is very welled balanced with many different experiences. First off I couldn t agree more with many of the other reviewers; you can t find a closer location to campus! When you are a student like I am along with being a full time worker sleep is a very big part of your life, when we can get it, so living this close to campus and being able to get that extra an hour sleep because I can walk out my complex and onto campus is a huge perk. I feel very safe at all times and have never had a problem with security here. They do have patrols that are out and about at night, they are rent a cops, but they are still out making sure our cars and us are safe at night.
I do however wish parking was better, but you do need to understand that it s not like they have anywhere to add spaces, so it really is just a frustrating situation that I don t think can change. I will also agree with others that we have at times had trouble getting a hold of a good property manager. But things seem to be going smooth lately, year or so. I have never in 4 YEARS had a problem with my rent check, if I pay on time than I don t have to worry about anything. I have been frustrated in the past with the property manager that thought it was ok for her to have a dog and we, at the time, were not allowed to. Nothing is more frustrating than a property manager having double standards, however as you can see, if you come visit, that property manager is no longer here.
I can t tell you how great my place looks, because I did a lease takeover 4 years ago and the people I took over for had been here for 2 years, so the apartment has the same carpet, paint and linoleum from back then. I can tell you that everything looks ok, see pictures sorry there blurry I took them on my phone, and the property manager has offered to redo our carpet but being the lazy college guys we are we didn t want to have to move everything ;). I do not have any leaks or plumbing problems and the one small electrical problem I did have I called the emergency maintenance line and they showed up within 30 minutes to fix it. It was 9:30 pm on a Friday night, so I am sure they probably had better things they could have been doing, however they were still here right away.
