problems and more problems

Parking: Read below for the story but the guest parking policy is the dumbest thing in the world.
Noise: Probably fine IF you live on the top floor of the upstairs apartment. I lived on the ground floor. Walls are good but footfalls land like drum beats. I had a few 90 pound girls living above me and it sounded like someone threw all four horsemen of the apocalypse down the stairs every morning.
Grounds: woodchips and more woodchips
Safety: its a safe area and they built a massive and utterly pointless wall which actually makes driving in the parking lot in winter less safe.
construction: Its an aging apartment that wasn't put together all that well to begin with. They have also had some flooding problems while I have lived here.
Maintenance: Go ahead and put in a maintenance request but good luck ever getting someone to do something about it.
Staff: If I didn't have to deal with them it would probably be funny. But I do and it really isn't.
Overall: Yea its conveniently located but having lived it I can tell you first hand location isn't everything.
I lived in U west for 3 years. For the first year the management was good. They were helpful and friendly. Then management changed. The ------- manager ------- ----- is a one of those pathetic people who take every opportunity to exercise their power over anyone they can. She has honestly done everything she could to make the remainder of my stay at U west a misery. In considering a new apartment complex I have intentionally avoided the same management company that she is employed by (MEB Services).
She is not simply awful to deal with but incompetent. Her parking policy is a prime example of the blatant control freak stupidity that reigns here. To summarize it, they will tow your guests car if you don't check out a parking pass in advance but you can't take out a parking pass if the office is closed (check office hours if your want to know when you can't get one). Therefore, if you have unexpected guests, they either need to park off the grounds (tough if its snowing) or take the very real risk that their car will be towed. I know nothing that says, "welcome to my home my friend" more than paying to get your car back from the towing company.

Hello, this is ------- from the office. I'm so sorry to hear that you have frustrations with parking. As you see, I am responding to you less than 24 hours after your concerns were posted. We do our very best to address issues immediately; however posting an anonymous review rather than stopping in the office will not solve the issues you have. Please stop in and see us- we would love to help you with any maintenance issues, noise concerns, explain our parking policy, or anything else you need. We are here and happy to help you! We have strict policies for parking because we have the most fantastic location in town, leaving many people to utilize parking here rather than paying for NAU parking. We just want to make sure that residents such as yourself always have a parking space available. Also, please note that every resident is issued 2 guest parking passes as well as 1 for each vehicle they register with us. Please feel free to utilize those passes, the guest parking spaces that do not need passes, or the additional passes we have in the office in case you are having several guests over at a time. Again, we would certainly love for you to give us an opportunity to help you, but we need you to come by and let us know your name and apartment number. Thank you for allowing us this opportunity to show our prompt service!

If your so frustrated by the complex than why be Anonymous. It sounds like you were a bad tenant who was unable to follow rules. I live here and can hardly ever find a parking space because your "unexpected guests" are using them all, so i am happy that they got towed.
