First, you have to come to terms with the fact that the office hates you.
After that, it's a great place to live. The location is superb, the property is being renovated, and the living spaces are fantastic. As long as you live by their ridiculous rules and realize that their amenities are all smoke and mirrors, you won't be disappointed.
The fitness center is great, but the spa has never been (and probably will never be) operational, so get that out of your head. The "clubhouse" is a lavish (and completely useless) testament to how much money they make. The only reason anyone would occupy that space would be to sit comfortably while waiting to talk to someone.
They have finally hired competent maintenance staff, and they're a pleasure to work with. I have no qualms about letting them into my home.
There are rather strict appearance regulations, and the office is all too quick about forcefully letting you know that you are in violation of the terms in your lease agreement. If you don't have your Christmas decorations down by January 15th, they will bare their teeth, snarl, and growl.
There are no bike racks, and you can't chain up your bike in the stairwells. So, if you want to bike, you have to keep it on your porch (which is a complete pain, especially if you live upstairs!)
Don't get me wrong, though. I like this place. I've purchased another bottle of KY and renewed my lease for a second time...
UPDATE! One day in December, we find a note on our door saying that the management is not going to let us renew our lease and that we have 30 days to vacate. We tried to find out why and they told us "We don't legally have to tell you...you can just wonder." Wow. Merry friggin Christmas.

Same thing happened to us after we had contacted the management company with concerns we had for the freaky deaky mother and son duo who were managers at the time. We had lived there for more than 8 years.
Even contacted housing lawyers in town who said the complex didn't have to renew the lease or tell us why.
Hopefully karma will be more than kind to them!
