Been living in an Athena floorplan (2 bed, 2 bath, 1153 sq. ft, 2nd floor) since January, 2007. On the surface, it is a beautiful place, but beware of the power bills. I've consistently paid as much or more than I did when I owned a 3 BDRM, 2 bath, 1400 sq. ft. home in Scottsdale that even had a walk in floral cooler (8 ft x 6 ft) in the garage that ran all the time for 3 years.

Part of the problem is poor insulation in the walls. In my apartment, about 80% of the master bedroom and walk in closet walls is against the "attic" area of the rest of the building. These walls get warmer than the west wall of my previous house which was exposed to the sun all afternoon.

BTW, the house was built in 1970, and codes were more lax then. I've lived in this desert for 17 years and know how to handle the thermostat.

Also, the refrigerator is really cheap. Shelves are inadequate and loose, and the door seal is poor which is probably part of the power bill problem.

AC filter is very difficult to change, being an industrial type filter with a door twice the size required for the filter and takes a screwdriver to remove the 6 screws holding it closed. Step ladder is also required to change the filter.
