We rented an apartment waiting for our new home to be compleated. As the date got nearer to closing we were told our move in date would be Nov. 15th (the latest). We gave gilbert greens our 30 day notice. After 1 week we were told someone didn't put our paper work through and now compleation would be Nov.30th. I contacted the apartment office immediatly to see if we could stay 2 more weeks. We were told no, a new tenant would be moving in and we had to be out by the 14th. I asked if the new tenants would let us stay if we paid a portion of their rent. The office staff said they called and the new renters said no. We then tried to rent another apartment and were told the were none. I have lived here 4 months and talk to many of the other renters and know ther are other units available. Why the office staff would treat us so poorly is not understood by us. We were trying to find a way out of another move as this is so tramatic for us. We moved from New York to Phoenix ,My Husband took a job in Tempe in May and we moved to Gilbert Greens in June. That makes 2 moves and we were hoping to move right into our new home but now we have to look forward to a move to another storage unit and a stay in a hotel and then on Nov. 21st we can move into our new home. The builder has pushed the work . Now we have to move out for 1 week because Your staff has no compassion I am very saddend by this treatment and am praying this is not how Arizonaian's treat people.

How can you possibly blame the complex for this? They are not the ones who didnt complete your paperwork, they only did what you instructed them. They assumed you would move out by the 15th of the month so they rented out your apartment for after that date, any other landlord would do the same thing. As far as you knowing "there are other units available" I think its kinda hard to assume that if you dont have knowledge on each unit. Some units may be empty cause of repairs that are needed and of course some many be reserved for future residents also, how can anyone assume that since a unit is empty it must be available to rent? I think if I were in your situation I would have moved into an extended stay hotel or something of that sort and tried to get your home company, the ones that caused your situation by not submitting your paperwork to pay for it.
