I am a current three year resident who needed a cheap apartment. Please see uploaded pic of the manmade swamp, how special!

The apartment square footage (a little more than 600 sq, ft. for a 2 bedroom, 1 bath) is the smallest available, so you really aren't getting a bargain per square foot compared to others. No dining area outside of kitchen and a regular round table and four small chairs don't fit in the kitchen which also houses the washer and dryer closet. Really cramped! You can't even have a birthday party at your home with family members it is that small!

Management in their infinite wisdom remodeled the office area and took away the Community Meeting Room it has now become part of their overgrown office. If you need extra space to host a meeting you can forget it. Management will not accomodate you. Find another larger apartment or one that has the public meeting facilities to share.

We have a lovely SWAMP outside our apartment and on a hot day it smells just awful. This is a greenbelt area that is a large grassy depression filled with run off from sprinklers that are on far too long and often and also filled from broken sprinkler heads that shoot straight into the sky to compete with the likes of the Fountain Hills fountain. Management always says its because of the rain (yeah, right we know how often it rains in Arizona). Doesn't matter where the water comes from it is not draining properly. It stays around all winter and in the summer can eventually evaporate but not until it produces billions of mosquitoes and horrid smelly algae first. It actually has now attracted ducks, a beautiful pair that are ready to mate. Maybe the management can apply to have it deemed a natural wildlife preserve. It's only a matter of time till the ducks attract predators that live right next to us across the railroad tracks (coyotes).

Wait there is more, these frequently broken sprinkler heads or ill aimed working sprinklers, coat your lovely freshly waxed car with hard water deposits overnight. That only a professional buff job will fix. The result of really hard and smelly Gilbert well water with floating sediments to boot.

I'm not done yet, when we moved in here the kitchen counter had a hole in the formica. When I asked to have it fixed they said they would paint the counter top. I said no thanks, how ghetto is that' A painted kitchen counter top' I am not even sure that is not a health hazard to paint a kitchen surface that you put raw food products on regularily' I declined the offer and to this day live with "holey" formica counter tops. Still ghetto I know, but maybe healthier then painted.

Warning: please read no further if you have a weak stomach. Trash bins. How on earth they allow trash bins to overflow to the extent that garbage is gathered all around the bins is beyond comprehension. How expensive can it be to rent another trash bin'

They certainly are not spending it on fixing my stove that has unsafe burners that frequently come loose a slip all over the place; or on fixing my fridge that can freeze anything you place in it towards the rear; or on the loose and wobbly sink fixture they keep tightening but won't replace, or the oven that cannot hold a mean tempurature because the insulation is shot after being only... what' 22 years old', or the slow drains, or black flies that live in our drains that we share our apartments with, or the old inefficient air conditioners that produce huge energy bills that top over $220 a month in the late spring through late fall.

Other than what I mentioned I guess this is a great place to live. I definately recommend this complex to those looking for something different, like a challenge but not physically challenged as they do not have adequate disabled parking either. Abled persons can't even carry their groceries home without trekking across gravel, cement curbs, and hilly grass in the dark due to inadequate lighting and parked cars blocking all access to the sidewalks. You have to walk around the cars into the lawn and garden areas to get onto the sidewalk. Heaven help you if the sprinklers are on! mgFDbN4-dhkSMZ7zRmVH
