I was a tenet at Legacy Village for 6 months under a 6 month lease. During move in, I helped myself to a card from the manager s office from Qwest Communications. I was surprised to learn that the complex exclusively offered Qwest services, and the apartments were not even wired for any other service providers.
I called to setup service. I was given a date that Qwest was going to show up, and therefore I took a vacation day since they required me to be present. 4 hours passed, and then 6 and I finally called to ask where the person was. No one at qwest had even processed the order. That was day # 1 taken off for work, and it was completely wasted. The next day I took off work for the reschedule - qwest did the same thing. That's day # 2 wasted. After 3 days off, someone finally appeard to install service. I had ordered high speed internet and cable tv. The technician who showed up took 1 hour and 45 minutes to tell me that he couldn't finish the job and that I would have to take another day off.
These problems continued - no help on customer service phone lines, no apology for having to take 3 days off from work. I couldn't log in to an online account because the installer did not know how to combine a land line and the high speed into one account. I paid my account through my banks bill pay. They lost every one of the payments, and my bank had to sort out all the payments directly with qwest.
Then when I moved out, I was told by qwest that I was being charged an early termination because I didn't sign a 12 month lease. No one at qwest, or legacy village told me there was a 12 month contract, and your only choice is to not have internet, phone or TV - or pay early terminations on all services when you move out.
I had to call the police on 2 separate occasions because of domestic violence. Bottles being thrown, people yelling at the tops of their lungs, and both times were after 1:00 AM. At least 2 -3 times a week, kids will pull the fire alarms.
And don't forget about the mosquitoes. You will fight through clouds of them to get in your front door. The whole complex is infested, and according to the complex they are only allowed to treat standing water. So you will be on your own with that. Bring lots of bug spray and candles.
Parking is horrible. Your assign spots are never anywhere near your apartment. And they are so narrow that you will never get out of your car normal again, especially if the person to the left of you drives a large car or doesn't know how to park. Add to that the unbelievably thin floors and walls. You will know every single place the person above you steps, or what channel your neighbor is watching on TV. The washer and dryer are stackable and extremely undersized. You can wash 2-3 pairs of jeans and 2 shirts OR a towel in each load.
My advice to you' Cross this one off your list, because it will be the biggest mistake you'll ever make.
