I moved into the complex 3 months after my son was murdered by an abusive ex (he was still out - the investigation was going on).
He found my remaining children and I at the complex and the Victim Advocate from the County Attorneys office recommended the children and I move out of state to a shelter. The Victims services was also helping with the move. They wrote a letter for me to the complex to get out of the lease and confirm the events.
I took the letter to management and I paid a month ahead. She said she would not charge me for breaking a lease or fees.
Four years later, as a single mom of 4, I go to apply for housing and no place would rent to me because I had this complex on my credit as a broken lease.
That's just plain wrong... She flat out lied and won't do anything to fix it. I am thinking of talking to an attorney about this regarding my rights.

Sorry to hear of your loss and then to have this complex treat you that way. That's horrible. You should talk to an attorney or someone. I didn't think an apartment complex could do that. Good luck!

The regonal manager has promised a few things to people and then backed out. She bends rules for some but not others. If she likes you or friends, she'll bend the rules to the point of breaking, (favortisim). She's unethical, biased, and in violation of the tenant act.
