I lived here for almost two years, and I didn't have very many problems. I had trouble getting the maintenance department to fix things, and they kept giving me 24 hour notice to do the following:
remove all boxes from the apartment
remove everything from all cupboards and closets
move everything away from the walls
remove any pets
have everything covered in plastic
If you didn't do that, they fined you $100 dollars. Why they couldn't give more appropriate notice (say a week or two) to essentially have you move out without ever leaving is beyond me. I dealt with this 3 times in the time I was there.
Anyway, what this review is really about, is what happened after I moved out. I had to break my lease due to a job situation, and I paid everything except my $200 concession. I had a $200 refundable deposit which I was told would go toward that.
Well, a couple weeks after leaving the complex, they sent me a bill for $480 with no explanation. When I called to ask about it, they said it included my final water bill (around $75) and carpet cleaning. Before I left, they told me it cost $60 to have the carpet cleaned. When I mentioned this, they said is the base price, and any damage (there was none) would raise it. I find it incredibly hard to believe that an apartment which only needed to be vacuumed, have the floor cleaned, and have a small nozzle on the faucet replaced, and have one of the toilet cleaned, could possibly have racked up $405 in miscellaneous charges.
Furthermore, I asked them to tell me when the move-out inspection would be, and they told me they'd get back to me. They're legally required to tell me, and to let me be there for it. Well tough luck for me I guess, because they never told me a thing.
Now I'm waiting for an itemized list of charges from them so we can see what nonsense they're charging me for.
