Smell my what'

My stay at The Country Creek Apartments was tolerable at best.

The property itself is fine. The grounds are well kept, the laundry room is usually clean, and at night the parking lot is well lit, although it is a bit of a pain to get to the north side of the property after the gates are closed, (which makes no sense when BOTH the north and south entrances lead directly out to 75th Ave,) but there's worse so whatever.

My MAJOR problem is with the management.

There were TWO separate occasions in which I had gone out to my kitchen for something to eat and been supervised to find some random guy standing in my living room! Both times he claimed to be there for pest control and both times he had let himself in using a key provided by management. All this was done without any kind of request on my part, or any kind of notification on management's part.

If you DO receive a notice for whatever reason, it'll be delivered by the property's security guard between the hours of 9:00PM & 11:00PM. That's right, from NINE to ELEVEN O'CLOCK AT NIGHT. Strange. I know.

But still not quite as strange as the time I was asked by the Manager for permission to smell my bathroom. At first I kind of laughed and asked why. A bit irritated the manager informed me that the people in the apt DIRECTLY NEXT to mine had just called in a complaint about their bathroom smelling like marijuana.

Offended by her indirect accusation I reminded her that our apts only shared walls in the living room and kitchen, and that our bathrooms were on opposite sides of the building. Then I offered that she should perhaps investigate the apt BELOW my neighbors. At this point she claimed that she already had and said "it WASN'T from them so I thought I'd check here."

Having nothing to hide I let her in. She walked into my bathroom, took a deep breath, and said "Well, it doesn't smell like marijuana. It does smell like something, I don't know what though." and left.

If I were you I'd save myself the trouble and find somewhere else to live.
