As a Thunderbird student who has lived at Country Stables for one year, I strenously urge other students to avoid signing a lease here. The walls are paper-thin, making studying at home nearly impossible. Every student here (myself included) has a problem with the noisy low-life locals who populate the complex. The "new" management does what the old management did: nothing. Traffic noise from 59th Avenue is also a problem.

I know of two car thefts, five apartment break-ins, and repeated acts of vandalism at Country Stables in the last year. There were probably more. The parking lot is poorly lit, and I have never seen the security service that management claims to sponsor. The apartments themselves are run-down, with decades-old fixtures and interiors.

If you don't mind a 5-10 minute drive, there are nicer places closer to the 101 Loop. An even better option are the two-room suites in the Exec Ed building that the administration will sometimes lease out. They run $2100 for four months, including utilities. This is a bargain, and if I could do it all over again I would move there instead.

I hope you find this information helpful, and don't make the same mistake I did by living at Country Stables.
