When I read the comment of a disgruntled tenant, I was shocked. I have lived here for 6 months, and as a rule, hate apartment living. However, Laguna is the best thing next to owning a home. I have a large, second-story apartment with a great floor plan, all the amentities you could want in a home, and a very low noise level due to the great insulation. I have a beautiful lake to gaze at from my balcony and I have found the residents and particularly the office and maintenance staff to be extremely friendly and helpful. If I have a problem, it is always quickly corrected. I have NEVER seen a rodent, pest, or spider -- not even cobwebs. The residents here are of a professional caliber (no raggedy cars, most people are gone during the day, no loud parties)and there are lots of families. You can tell the residents care about their apartment homes. The pool is always clean, the workout equipment repaired and I love having my own full-sized washer/dryer in my unit. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a clean (I have never moved into a cleaner apartment), quiet, safe apartment home. It's not cheap but I wouldn't want it to be. However, the rent is competitive to the area. My child goes to a brand-new school in a brand-new neighborhood. I don't mind paying for that.

I am the former tenant that wrote this original review in 2002. Well, I'm here to tell you that everything I wrote was true - in 2002. New owners took over the following spring 2004 and they were the most incompetent, uncaring people I have ever had the displeasure to do business with. The quality of the maintenance staff was horrible. Routine repairs would take more than a week and several items in my apartment remained unrepaired because maintenance was too busy to take care of them and I got tired of their "the part is on back order" excuses. The office manager gave me incorrect lease and deposit information at least twice and was unsympathetic when I called her on it. When I finally moved, they charged me for items that were damaged when I moved in. Currently, there is a really bad cricket problem because they don't do regular pest control like the original owners did. I also had to remove two wasps nests on my patio, and bees swarmed around my porch light each night. Do yourself a favor and don't get sucked in by the beautiful grounds - once you move in, you will regret it because you won't have the support of a good staff.
