Three complaints

live here now. I've lived here since 12/06. I have to say I really enjoy living here. I'm going to renew my lease. I only have two..no..three complaints. #1..roaches. We had a few roaches when we left for vacation...just tiny ones; but still. When we got back two weeks later and yes..our apt was clean when we left...we had an infestation. We called and the man came out on Tuesday and sprayed. He must have sprayed chocolate, cause they just got worse. We asked again and they are to come Tues. and spray again. #2: Noisy neighbors upstairs. A very young, immature couple has moved in over us. They stomp and drag things around all night. When we hit on the ceiling to let them know they were getting a little too loud, they just hit back in the same pattern that we hit and then they got louder. We told the office and they said they'd give them written notice. They were quiet for a while. But, tonight they are back at it again. It's 11:30pm and sounds like they are bowling up there. If I call the office to leave a message, I don't really know if they will respond later.
They did put in new boxes. I like the way they did it. You don't have your apt number on your box now. That will cut down on the theft. I also like the loading docks. It comes in handy when you bring home groceries, you can pull up to your door, unload and then park in your space in the parking lot. But, some people abuse it. They or their friends will park pick up trucks or other cars there for hours just to run in and visit. This way, if someone has things to unload, they have to carry them uphill from the parking lot. There's nothing really done about that. I've seen the golf cart dude that works here just ride by and not attempt to find out who those cars belong to.
The office staff is always very nice and accomadating. I just wish they would enforce the noise rules a little better. Other than that, I'm quite happy here.

Another thing, a lady fell on broken concrete in the sidewalk just outside of our apartment. They painted it orange and put up a cone. That was several months ago. Nothing done since then. But, they've recently put up no parking signs on either side of the buildings so noone can pull a loading truck in when they are moving in or out and you can't drive up and unload your groceries. You have to lug them a mile from your parking space...uphill. The reason for the signs that are in concrete so noone can drive through? They say it's cause some redneck kids keep driving their cars through at 2 and 3 am. So, cause of that, if you need to move furniture, you have to haul it on your back up hill and then upstairs to your apartment. I hope I don't have to move soon. My back can't take it. Oh, They put padlocks on both pools. When asked why, they acted like they didn't know they were there. Several months later, we asked again and they acted surprised they were there, when asked if they would ever come off, they suddenly remembered the pool is closed until May. However, I have seen young kids in the pool by the office swimming in early and mid april. Guess you getin if you know the right people. I like the jacuzzi cause it helps the circulation in my legs. I don't need to parade in my bikini. But, I have to wait til May to have access to the jacuzzi cause it's way too cold in April to get in a heated jacuzzi.
I also had my dishwasher checked out. The office staff left me a note saying I was using the wrong soap. I use electrosol dishwasher tablets. She said I should use dishwashing liquid.....in my dishwasher.
I saved that note. If I do use dishwashing liquid and the bubbles and suds go all over, I'll show it to them and say I'm just doing as they told me to. I thought dishwasher tablets is what you used in dishwashers. I guess all those commercials are wrong.
Other than all this, plus the roaches and the stomping upstairs, I really like it here...oh.....also there are cats everywhere and they keep multiplying. You can't open your window without smelling cat pee or hearing them fighting or loving late at night outside your window. Yet, no one will call animal control on them.
But, like I said....for the most part...I like the place.
