Racist management

It is pretty obvious management at Newport Landing doesn't like Latino people. My family and I are treated very poorly, and I never give them any reason to. I asked them a couple of times to fix some lighting that had been broken for a long time, and once my dishwasher broke and they blamed me and my kids, and still haven't fixed any of the lights outside or my dishwasher. I don't even bother to call them anymore saince they lost my rent check twice - both times I dropped it in the office's rent slot and both times I received a 5 day notice because it was either lost, stolen or they posted it to the wrong account. They waited two weeks to tell me, and by that time the lates fees were very high and very difficult for me to pay. I think that was deliberate because the thought I would not be able to pay it all and they would be able to evict me. If you are black I guess the qualifications are different. I see people move in and they do not even have any furniture, other than a couple of chairs and a few mattresses. If I go into the clubhouse they always ask if I need anything, and all I want to do is get out of the house and away from the kids for a while and relax. The harassment is really a problem, and I do not see them do that to Anglos or black people. It is very unsafe her and I always worry about my kids and my wife. Many cars are stolen and broken into every day, and it is very dark because they won't fix any lights, even after being told about them many times. My dishwasher is broken and was never fixed, but I will not let anyone into my apartment because they scare my wife and kids. They say they have security but I never see them, so I don't let my kids go out after dark and I always walk my wife to her car and have her call me when she comes home so I can come outside and walk her into the apartment. We never bother anyone but we are treated so poorly, and the only reason I can think of is because we're Latino. It is very surprising that black managers would be so racist and discriminatory.
We are so afraid we are breaking our lease and moving to a better community where the rents are higher, but it is worth it for the peace of mind. The manager at the new apartment is Latina and very nice and has done a lot to help us prepare to move. she even knows that we are breaking our lease here, and referred us to a civil rights attorney to help us. My family has been in Arizona for generations, and we have never seen anything this bad. All I want is for my family to be safe and for my kids to go to a good and safe school, and I cannot do that here.
I would advise everyone to avoid Newport Landing, if you value your property, your own safety or your family's safety, and your dignity and pride. Management has a real problem and hopefully my attorney will will help change it.
