Okay, if you like problems

Years at this apartment: 2008 - 2008
My fiance and I lived in the apartments for a year with our dog. At first we were very ecxited to move in and get everything settled. It was going to be our first place together and we specifically chose those apartments because they were in a decent area and had washer and dryers in the apartment (or in your storage area.)
Upon our inspection of our apartment (after we had paid them a very large deposit), I found bugs living under the bathroom sink from a leak that had gone unfixed for quite some time. They fixed the problem, but the disgusting mold smell never left (and I couldn't store anything down there as it would absord the nasty smell and I just couldn't use the items after that.)
We also noticed about a week or two after moving in, that the toilet seemed to keep growing some black/brown mold all over the bowl from the water. (We went out and bought a ton of cleaning stuff including those 1000 flushes and a lot of bleach.) After getting the bowl all clean again, we found that every week, if it went uncleaned, the black/brown mold just grew in again. (And the shower water I am sure was not much better as it initially made me break out and later on down the road, I developed some kind of yeast infection that seemed like it just never would go away. Upon moving into our new place, I have not yet had an issue with this problem.) When asking the office staff, all they could tell us was that it was the water from the city and they couldn't do anything about it. (Now keep in mind they are located in the Glendale area, and I grew up on Glendale water and never had that problem anytime before this.)
A while later, we found out that the catilitic converter from my fiance's truck had been stolen. (And I mean someone cut that sucker out clean!!! About a foot of pipe in either direction was missing with it.) From then on, my car was our only mode of transportation as at the time we did not have the money to fix that problem. When we made this issue clear to the office, they told us there was nothing they could do about it. (Now keep in mind, there is supposed to be security doing rounds through the complex each night.) When we brought up the issue that shouldn't there have been some security in the area, they said that unless they had specifically caught someone in the act, they couldn't do anything either.
I just don't think we could ever catch a break with them. We were almost never notified of improvements that had been scheduled for our area until it was too late. When they repainted the edge of the sidewalk (in red keep in mind) we were never told nor were any signs put up warning people there was wet paint. So that evening when we went to take out the trash, we came back into the apartment w/ red paint all over the bottoms of our shoes and were not aware of this until seeing the bright red spots all over the carpet. (Really, how often do you look at where you have already walked.) I contacted the office immediately, it was just a few minutes until they closed and I had just got them in time. They told me they would let the maintenance people know and should have someone out soon. (After waiting up until 11PM that night, we figured they were not coming.) When I called the next day, they said the maintenance people must have been busy and they would let them know again that we needed it cleaned up. A couple weeks later, I called again as I still had a mess on my floor. They sent in another order to the maintenance. (This went on for about 2 months.) The last time I contacted them I told them I needed them to call me back to set up a time to get this cleaned as I was irritated it was taking them so long to get back. To this they responded that my previous request must have been lost and they would get right on it. (Now keep in mind I requested they CALL to set up a time for this as I do have a pet.) Later that week, I came home to a rancidly powerful smell in my apartment and the bright red paint was finally gone. However, I was irritated that nobody had called me as this meant my dog had been inhailing that nasty smell all day, and by the way got a little sick from it too. (Now keep in mind that INITIALLY, I had given them permission to enter the apartment, but they had told me that request had gotten lost. Sound fishy anyone')
Later on down the road, we found out that we had CARPET BUGS!!! EEEEwwwwww!!!! So from that point on, we had to have them spray our apartment each week, as I did not want anything to become too comfortable. When we asked why we were having such issues, the staff told us it was because we were on the 1st floor and a lot of bugs tend to be found on that level.
Now that we are finally gone and out of there, we are fighting with them about getting our reinbursement money. I have called them a total of 5 times over the course of 2 months and just today gotten an answer. (I was told that our information had been either misplaced or lost but that our reinbursement is being processed at present. I would also like to note they told me that ours was not the only one to be lost.)
So while it was 'okay' living there SOME of the time, I would NEVER recommend the place to anyone!!! The only nice thing about it was that we were in an apartment where most everyone was nice and friendly and was aware of their neighbors. (That is until a couple months prior to our move out date.)
