Don't Even Bother

Don't even bother to look at the place.

I moved in July 29, 2003. I was in the larger sized one bedrooms. Great price. Maintnance was quick to respond. Management was wonderful. No insects or rodents.

I had to transfer from the one bedroom to a studio the following May due to a financial crunch. That was nice. It was next door to the office, the only unit with all ceramic tile and french doors (it had once been the maintenance office).

However, December of 2004, it was acquired by a new owner. They let go of the two women who were previously working there and hired two others to take their places.

Last year, in May, I moved to a 2 bedroom with a friend. Before we even got anything moved in, there was a roach infestation in the master bedroom and bathroom (my roommate's room). After a lot of arm twisting that got taken care of, however, the roaches then began to appear in the kitchen.

We've done everything we know to do to get rid of the unwanted visitors, but, the problem only grew. Now I can't use my microwave because I saw a roach on the inside where the clock was at. Would you use a microwave that is obviously roach infested to cook your food'

Also, this unit came with a washer and dryer. We noticed it wasn't drying loads, even at the hottest settings and it would get hot on top. We complained at least more than a dozen times and they still never did anything until they had to have mortgage inspections. They brought a different dryer but it didn't fit, so another one was brought in. They said it was a different dryer, but, it did the same thing as the old one did, which would indicate to me that they didn't really put a new one in.

To this day, the dryer still doesn't work and it's begun squealing. We've complained about a half dozen more times over the last month and nothing has been done.

Also, we just noticed today that our refrigerator was leaking water. We were told that maintenance would come up right away. No one has come, so, I'm sure we're going to have to complain about this several times and nothing will be done about it.

Oh, and back in July 2005, the a/c went out. It took two days and a notice we acquired from the Landlord Tenant Association for them to fix it...I have a cat and my roommate has pet rats. It wouldn't have been good for them. Also, I'm on medication that makes me more prone to problems due to exreme heat. They did nothing to make us comfortable in those two days. We had to stay with one of my roommate's co-workers.

Anyhow, given the above situation, this place has really gone downhil. Our lease is over May 31st. I'm getting married in December and will live with my fiancee, however we WON'T live here, nor will my roommate.

Oh, and our parking space is out of commission because some dingbat who took up our space hit the pole of the awning. They won't give us a temporary alternate space saying that since they're assigned it's difficult to even know where they would be able to place us.

And, my car was stolen from here in April. I also hear the ceiling "creeking" and we're on second floor with no units above us.
