Episode 1

If anyone out there telecommutes, this isn t the place to live to do it !! At least that is as far as ----- -----, manager of ---- ------ Residential San Lagos is concerned!!

September 2, 2008 I received a letter in my door from ---- ------ Residential San Lagos namely ----- ----- - stating that I have unauthorized occupants entering and residing in my apartment. The notice stated that the management has received several reports about numerous people entering and residing in my apartment. It also states that if I do not remedy the situation within 10 days, by 9-12-2008- my tenancy would terminate.

I called the front office at ---- ------ Residential San Lagos on 9-4-08 to ask them why they are saying that I have numerous people living with me because I don t and spoke with ----- -----, the manager, and she asked me what all of the foot traffic was and I said what foot traffic' ----- -----, the manager, went on to say that several neighbors are complaining about me having several people in and out of my apartment at all hours of the night and that usually when that is happening it points to drugs and/or prostitution!!!

I then proceeded to tell ----- ----- - manager of ---- ------ Residential San Lagos that I work out of my house and the only people I have come visit are my boyfriend, nephew & his girlfriend and my daughter and that I do not have anyone else living with me except when my daughter stays over. ----- ----- manager of ---- ------ Residential San Lagos then stated that I am not allowed to work out of my house. I told her that I already informed my leasing agent at the time of move in that I work from home and had asked her how fed ex and ups work because I get a lot of blueprints delivered. She asked what kind of work I do and then she seemed fine and we ended the conversation. I jokingly said during the conversation that if I were a prostitute or dealing drugs I sure would have a lot more money in my bank account!

As a side note: one week prior to this letter, my boyfriend had stopped in the front office to ask when the broken glass was going to be cleaned up next to my parking space because every time he drops me off I have to walk around the glass and one time cut my foot because it was dark and I couldn t see all of it. The Porsche next to me had its driver side window busted and glass sat everywhere for over a week before it finally was cleaned up.

Also I had 2 boxes delivered to me from my mother with my nephews name on them, so this is what they are using to say that because these 2 boxes came to my mailing address, I have others living with me. I suppose I should keep all of the mail I always get for the last person who lived here too; this must mean that they still live here as well.

Meanwhile, my boyfriend came over and parked in my space because my nephew had borrowed my car and when he came down there was a warning sticker on his car that said he had expired tags and that he had until 6 p.m. to remove his car. Whoever did this didn t do their research because had they run his plate they would have found that he had already gotten a 30-day extension on his registration due to emissions. So again this notice/harassment goes without cause.

Episode 2

Well, 9-12-2008 comes and I speak with my supervisor and tell him of what happened regarding working from home and how the manager is saying that I can t do that even though the leasing agent knew about it when I originally signed my lease and never told me nor is it written that I couldn t work from my home. After discussing this with the corporate office, my company decides to let me go. FYI 9-12 is my birthday. So not only am I fighting a wrongful eviction by ---- ------ Residential San Lagos on my birthday, I also lose my job! If anyone out there telecommutes, this isn t the place to live to do it !! At least that is as far as ----- -----, manager of ---- ------ Residential San Lagos is concerned!!

Episode3

September 23, 2008 I receive another phone call from San Lagos, ---- ------ Residential, namely ----- -----, the manager, to say that she was following up on our conversation from 3 weeks ago to tell me that she is still getting complaints about all the foot traffic and all the men that I have coming into my apartment. Again I say what in the world do you mean all the foot traffic''' And what does all the men comment mean'' I said I have a boyfriend and my nephew comes to visit, is that against my lease rules' She said no, it is just several employees and residents are complaining that I come home late every night. I said so what' I am not making noise going up my stairs am I' What if I had a 3rd shift job and got home at that time every night, this wouldn t be allowed' She said no that not what I mean. I said well what do you mean' I don t like being accused of dealing drugs or being a prostitute. ----- -----, manager of ---- ------ Residential San Lagos then proceeded to say didn t you hear about the big prostitution bust in Scottsdale' I told her no I hadn t and she said What'' You didn t''' Acting so surprised as if I should ve heard about this because after all, I am in the business!!

I said ----- what do you want me to do' I don t know what else to tell you. I am allowed to have people spend the night - even up to one week at a time if I wanted according to my lease agreement so at this point I don t know what else you want me to do to prove that all these accusations are false. She said well I am just calling you because I have to respond to the complaints.

Day 10 the final count down begins

Get a knock on my door about 2 p.m. 9-23-08 and then a letter is pushed through my door, which I grab and read. What do you know! Another 10 day eviction notice that says I am in material breach for my second notice of unauthorized occupants and therefore have 10 days to remove myself from the property.

My boyfriend was over and we both together walk down to the front office and speak with ----- -----, manager of ---- ------ Residential San Lagos, and proceed to ask her what the he!! is going on and why are you still accusing me of breaking my lease. She says several residents and employees have complained about all the foot traffic and late nights. I ask her who is saying this and she says she can t tell me. I say there isn t any rule against coming home late at night in the lease. We repeatedly ask her how much foot traffic is too much foot traffic to you'' Never getting an answer of course, asking again, what does she mean when she says that this foot traffic points to prostitution and drug dealing and the neighbors are on edge. I say I can t believe you are saying these slanderous things to me and then I ask is this all happening because my boyfriend is black and I am white'' Oh no, absolutely not she says with a smirk on her face.

Finally ----- -----, manager of ---- ------ Residential San Lagos says that she is not comfortable having this conversation and that she will see me in court and all of the people complaining about me will al be there to tell their side of the story. I am horrified and in shock and utter disbelief over what has occurred to me since moving into this community. I have been slandered repeatedly, lost my job, and now face eviction over unfounded vague accusations.

Stay tuned for what will happen when the count down continues ..

Ok, well, you seem to only be concerned with your side of this story. She has a side too, and just because your too stupid to see that you could be wrong, that doesnt automatically make you right!

Sounds like the manager did what any responsible property manager would do. She received numerous complaints about noise coming from the apartment and notified the resident. If the resident was receiving packages for other people, it is understandable how it would seem like she has other people living with her. Sounds like she would have these kinds of issues with any apartment community. Should go rent a house if she doesn't want these kinds of issues.

I hope you get a good lawyer because I too am having problems with ----------. I am getting sued for $600 from 2.5 years ago but I did get my deposit back and the final walk through shows that everything was ok.

I have zero trouble believing any of this... this sounds like ----- to me... she make everyone's experience at San Lagos a nightmare... I have never heard one resident say anything positive about their interactions with her ever...

Due to your bad housing ----et, it makes more sense to rent or buy a house. You are wasting thousands of dollars in an unhappy environment when you can be putting that money into your own home or a rental with more privacy. It's nobody's business when YOU come home. Corporate office is paying attention to all reviews, since their wallet is the one that is suffering. There are many friendly, fair and capable people out there that can manage and work in a rental office. If people were watching and into your business, which is what this sounds like, then maybe the Porsche's window wouldn't have gotten busted. Anyway, you pay enough-maybe tenants should band together and pressure for tighter security-on foot, and a some eyes in the sky. Yes, it's an apartment complex, but it is still a business, the office manager is not the last rung on the corporate ladder. There are better options out there.
