Overall nice place to live.

Years at this apartment: 2007 - 2009

My wife and I moved in here as I began my first year of Medical school. We have stayed for 2 years and found it to be a nice place to live.

The Good:
To start, we paid 200$ less than the other 5 complexes near by. For the second year extension, our rent increased about $40/month.
The management is attentive and helpful. When we have had problems, they take care of them. The handymen are friendly and will even take time out of their day to help you move heavy packages up to your apartment.
One time we forgot to pay our rent on time and received a 75$ fee notice the next day. When we talked to the management, they waived the fee and were very understanding.
When we decided to move out so that we could be centrally located for rotations, the management allowed us to pay month to month at our current rate, instead of the default MTM adjustment of $300.
They are renovating a lot of the apartments with accent walls and tile (ours is not renovated, but still decent).
Our A/C broke in the second month that we lived here (august) and they had replaced the fan assembly within 2 hours of our call on a Sunday. The staff lives in complex and are on always on call.

The Bad:
Parking is short, there is an assigned space for each apartment, but not enough open spaces for additional cars. Occasionally, we have to walk an extra distance.

In the non-renovated apartments, there is dated appliances, fixtures, countertops, etc. They show their age of 10 years - but when they break the management will replace them.

There was a broken gate that accessed the Home Depot parking lot that was broken for a few months - problem is that it would open periodically w/o the sensors being activated. This allowed people to come into the complex who had no business in here. Our car was broken into during this time, and there were stolen cars stored in the lot. Eventually, there was a police raid to capture the theif, and it resulted in a chase through the complex and the stolen car jumping a curb and hitting the fence. The whole thing happened next to our car it was very exciting.

Some people mentioned "The ditch", which is Skunk Creek - it has a nice bike path, which travels safely for miles and is flanked by public parks. It is scenic and desert landscaped. At night time you will occasionally hear Coyotes and Javalenias passing through it, but they do not bother you. There are also rabbits that come out of "the ditch" at night and early in the morning to eat grass - we liked those.

Bottom line: Not the greatest apartment interior, but over all it is well worth the rent.
