going downhill

We moved in under the old company. Heard a lot of bad things about them but they were always good with us. Had two small maintenance problems and a guy came right after we told the leasing office and fixed our AC, told us why it wasn't working, etc. That was when we first moved in.

Since the new company took over they got rid of all the old maintenance staff. All the maintenance staff that I ever see around are real young and look pissed off all the time. Personally I don't care if they are just as long as they do there best to fix any problems us residents have. We've had one problem since, with a leak. I reported and they said someone would be by that day, if not the next day for sure. They never came. After a few days of waiting I went down and told a guy in the leasing office, he said he'll page maintenance and find out what was going on and call me. He called me a few minutes later, said Maintenance said that they checked it already and it was just condinsation from the AC and to use a bucket and deal with it.

I wasn't to happy they lied and said they checked it when I was home the whole time but since it wasn't affecting my water bill and only leaked real bad when the AC was on I figured they were right. Still, it would of been nice to know they'd at least look at it, my apartment building is right next to the leasing office.

The grounds are getting trashier. I don't blame the apartment for it, that's the residents doing and not picking up after themselves. The old company always had someone out picking up trash every day, I see them out maybe once a week since the new company took over, they dont seem to really care.

Also, they will not help you out with paying rent if needed.

I lost my job. I got another one a few days later and started training about two weeks later, the earlist I could start. My fiancee was still working so we were ok. Well it came around to time to pay rent and we dont have enough for the full amount and I have not recieved my first check yet.

We figured since we've never caused any problems at all. Not even when maintenance lied about checking out our leak, and we've been living here 11 months, this being the 12th of our 15 month lease and we always paid rent on time, cleaned up after our dogs when we take them for walks which a lot of owners still don't do around here, that they would work with us. We could pay half right away and the next half two weeks later when we both get paid.

They refused saying they can't do that and that we can pay it late but they will charge us $50, plus $5 every day it's late. I understand why they want rent, but unlike some we approched them letting them know we wouldn't have enough right away and given our great track record and the fact many other apartments have all helped out my friends when they wanted to pay half at one point, and half at another point, we figured they would. It's not like we've ever done this before. They refused. If they think we're going to renew our lease they are sadly mistaken. We intended to renew our lease and they knew that as we've let them know but since maintenance doesn't even want to check on issues, and they didn't care at all about our one time situation as they claim "We are a family and love our residents!" there is no way we're going to renew our lease.

One more note as well. If you want quiet it won't happen to often here. The side we are on is ok at times but there are a lot of kids who run and ride bikes all throughout this place without supervision, the parents just plain don't care. That includes then they run and ride there bike fast in the parking lot. We almost hit two kids when backing out of our spot that were on there bikes. One came flying around the corner and seemingly didn't notice or care that we were almost completely backed out and we had to slaim on our brakes to stop. Good thing we were not backing out real fast as some people do around here. Then, after looking around and not seeing anymore coming we continued to back up and another kid came around the corner but he was so young and small, and on a small bike that I didn't even see him until he already came out on his bike from behind me. I couldn't see him over the trunk of my car!

So if you have kids and don't care to supervise them and dont care if they run in the parking lot and run throughout the complex, then this place is perfect for you! If you want some quiet or at least expect parents to do at least a little bit of parenting, this place isn't for you. A large amount of children with parents who don't care and more kids move in often. I've had a kid cuss me out because he ran up and wanted to pet my dog and I told him not today because he ran at my small dogs and scared one of them that im sure if the kid put his hand down my dog would of bit him. Another young kid was yelling at me from the 3rd floor "Hey! Let me pet your dog!" with his dad standing in the doorway to busy watching tv from his doorway to care his kid was being very rude.
