Not the greatest, Not the worst

Years at this apartment: 2008 - 2009

My husband and I moved into Brook View in November of 2008 and if I'm going to be honest, for a ghetto kind of place it's not THAT bad. I mean, some things are, but not all. Every apartment complex is going to have pros and cons.
For one, everyone keeps to themselves and they are all relatively nice. One time I locked my keys in the car and someone a couple doors down from me kindly helped me try to break into my car haha. I personally like how no matter what time it is, someones unit is awake and doing something, so if we want to have a small party at 2am it's ok.
They are now under new management and I do like Maria, she has been very flexible with us and worked with us very well when we had a hard time making our payments.
But there are some things I do not like and these things do not necessarily reflect management. For one, The parking area. There is no covering and it's in an inconvenient alley where only one car can turn in so if you are sitting there waiting to get out you have to reverse to let someone in, it's annoying.
I get nervous everytime I have to walk from my car to my room, one time I had a mexican man following me so I had to run! I know that can happen anywhere but it's more likely here since the majority race is --------. And we all know that Mexican like women. Let's be honest.
The water is constantly leaking somewhere or they shut it off for long periods of time, there are a few roaches here and there, but the absolute biggest thing I hate is that they took FOREVER to turn the AC on after many complaints, I thought I was going to die of heat stroke even with our fans going constantly and even now that it's on it's STILL hot!
We are gratefully moving out in June to a gated community that has a washer and dryer, doesn't look like a hotel and we control our own air. Thank Jesus.
Overall, for our first time renting and starting out here, it was just right. But now it's time to move on to bigger and better things. No offense to anyone. We will miss management, our rockin neighbor and a few others! Just know, anywhere you rent, there will be things you like and some things you have to deal with. That's apartment life for ya.
