No security, auto thefts, drugs, gate don't always work.

A lot of vehicle thefts, vehicle burglaries,
suspicious characters, trespass, broken gates, management does not provide security even though they advertise a gated community. Drug problems, younger residents don't abide by the rules. Management disavows any responsibility for the above. You're on your own. Visit Mesa P.D. crime statistics website. Attitude is, "if you don't like it move", after stroking you along. Otherwise not too bad a place to live. Nice cosmetics, high rents, good maintenance. Security improvements are necessary but not provided for in your lease. Overall, better than living in the ghetto. Parking spaces need to be configured. Property operated by mega corp. They have you by the "short hairs" after you sign the lease. If they don't like your input they will refer you to the lease you signed.
