I moved into Cortona Feb 2006. The apts are a little older but are very well kept up & have a cool design. Cortona is located on South Val Vista which is a great part of mesa to live. My apt has brand new flooring in every room!! -Walls have been recently painted -A/C works very well -Some appliances are older but acceptable -I was impressed to see a brand new washer/dryer in my apt also!! -Washer/dryer are stored in a closet on the balcony which is great design!! -Huge balcony with double access -Lit covered parking & newly paved -Tons of extra parking -Friendly staff & maintenance -Service calls response is immediate -2 sparkling pools surrounded by palm trees -Lighted basketball court with new cement & paint -Grounds are well lit feel very safe & are well kept up -I haven't seen any suspicious people loitering around the property whatsoever and usually the gates are working fine. I highly recommend cortona!!
UPDATE May 16, 2008: I'm still living at cortona and still highly recommend it. The only downside I want to mention is they don't have any larger bins for the US mail to place larger packages. All you have is very small lockable mailboxes for your mail and if you receive a larger package the mailcarrier has to leave it in the apartment office. The major downside to this is you can't get your larger USPS packages after the office is closed at 6pm! Also you might have to wait to get your package if the office is busy with clients when you arrive. It would just be MUCH MUCH more convenient if cortona would add a few larger lockable bins by resident mailboxes so we could get our larger packages afterhours if needed and without any wait time!!
