I lived there for a year and six months. It was nice when we first moved in and the staff were friendly and helpful and the manager was understanding and worked with us if we were late on the rent.
When we renewed the lease for another six months, the original staff were let go and these new twits were hired. They were allowing any piece of trash, crackhead, etc to move in which is what you can expect since Garden Place is funded by the state which is why they go by your income determines what you pay in rent.
When our lease was up, we gave 30 days notice in writing. Our lease was up 12/31 she wrote on the letter that she'll extend our lease until January as she stated to give us time to move when all she was really doing was trying to get another month of rent from us. WRONG!!! These people are scumbags. We were moved out on 12/30 turned in the keys gave the office our forwarding address and phone number. Never did Lori ONCE call or mail me any notification of a past due amount of $305.00. She sent my account to a collection agency. So what started out as $305.00 wound up $1150.00 for breaking the lease. I wanted to break her face. So I wrote her a pretty straight forward letter, basically calling her an idiot and she needs to go back to school to learn how to be a manager and that her office staff were a bunch of incompetent twits. So to get this nonsense off of my credit report I paid the $1150.00

Must have taken you a long time to pay off that $1150. People who pay their rent late should pay all late fees, no exceptions. It's the scumbags who can't afford to pay on time, as they agree to, that screw up apartment home living.

Why is it that when I post something on this site I get responses from idiots such as this person? Yes it took me a long time to pay that money back, why the hell should I? We gave our 30 day notice, Lori extended the lease until January which was sneaky and she is a scumbag to get more money. So no, we moved on 12/30 turned in the keys at that point we had no further obligations. I never agreed to her extending the lease another month.

I went to this place while visiting a resident there. I am from back East. This place looked like a ghetto to me. I was shocked. The apartments are cheaply done and not maintained at all from what I saw. The exterior looks a bunch of taco bell restaurants, grouped together. The landscaping was nice but the buildings gave the impression of a Cheap Motel in Atlantic City. The parking area looks to me like a hamburger drive in, or an old McDonald's.. Oh so 70's is this place. However, you will not find the Brady's living there; more like the cast of Good Times or a scene from HBO's Intervention. It screams bulldozer! The inside of the unit I saw was equally un-impressive. The kitchen was a hallway and practically set out on the walk way it felt; too close to the common path. The bathroom is the size of a postage stamp and the rest was just non descript. To me, it was more of a Motel 6 than a place to call home.
