I've lived here since 2001 and used to love it. The master bedroom is spacious and the walk in closet attached to it is great w/ shelves built in. The patio is huge and that's great. However, when the old owners sold it over a year ago and the new ones came on, it went to heck in a hand basket. Hate the ugly green color, looks like poo. My husband's truck was broken into and a neighbor's nice vehicle was keyed up. The landscaping looks crappy with dead grass and has been like this since the new owners came in. Work orders can take a long time to get done, still waiting for a door to get fixed. When I renewed my lease last year I asked for new carpeting since our current one was pretty well worn and it was refused. Mind you, this carpet has been in since we moved in and at that time it was used by the previous tenants. Initially the office staff wasn't as friendly as the previous management but they've improved in that area although they've made excuses for lack of service orders. Pools are sometimes green instead of blue and they keep chains on 2 of the 3 pool gates at the south entrance. In the last year they've begun to lower their standards and let everyone and anyone in. This place has become a real ghetto and we're moving on, which is a real shame since I used to love it here. BTW, a previous posting about the a/c not reaching the master bedroom is true, very little cool air wafts on that end of the apt. I think for the amount of rent they charge you could find a better management company and neighborhood. As for the neighborhood, there is a lot of homeless people who walk by the complex, some even sleep in the grass by the LDS church and sometimes the street lights on 6th Ave. don't work.

It's really bad when a long term tenant can't get a new carpet as required by law. Also worth mentioning is how loud the sound is when it bounces off the walls of the opposite apartment buildings. The noise at this apartment complex is terrible if you want your windows open at night. They are now putting in a bad color brown carpet and wood looking linoleum in the kitchen and the colors of the flooring and the carpet clash with the wood color of the cabinets in the kitchen. It looks ghetto. Lastly, the cars are allowed to drive thru the property fast and the parking lot is dangerous.

Not giving new carpet to a reliable tenant of x-amount of years is not very smart. After the old mgmt. company went thru with their Due Diligence and sold it to the current management company I had seen a lot of "cutting corners" and even though we were iffy about renewing our lease cuz the new mgmt. was a small independent one, we had spoken w/ the manager about our carpet. We told her it was used when we moved in and after 4 years it was looking pretty tatty especially since we had pets that were listed on the lease and paid the pet rent w/ our monthly rent. Instead she offered us carpet cleaning services, which was nice, but used and well worn does tend to show through after a cleaning. BTW, I forgot to mention in my original post, it irritates me when the pool light (in the actual pool) on the S. side of the property is left on the actual pool deck. I've also seen it floating in the water. I've called on that a couple times because I was afraid of being electrocuted if something screwy happens to the connection. I was told that it's not possible to be electrocuted, something about it being made to be submerged, but still it is creepy. Doesn't make me feel safe. I haven't seen any of the renovations but it doesn't surprise me that they're being chintzy about the upgrades. In all fairness, I don't think it's the mgmt's fault cuz they have to maintain a budget, but I think it is the owner's fault for being chintzy. They raise the rent when you renew to keep it at "market value" but those rents don't reflect the standard of living you'd expect for that amount, and that's just my opinion.
