We COULD NOT WAIT for our lease to be up. The neighbors were a nightmare: loud, rude, 6-8 people crammed into an apartment. They bounded up the stairs like elephants 24 hours a day. Their endless numbers of kids were allowed to play within inches of our ground floor balcony. Literally, inches. And by playing, I mean screaming and throwing rocks, unsupervised, for hours every day. They also had a game where they would throw garbage and empty beer cans from the balcony of our upstairs neighbors, while the kids on the ground would scream "TRICK OR TREAT" at the top of their lungs. Then they would try to catch the thrown garbage in bags. Anything not caught was left on the ground where it landed. I know, it sounds like I am making it up. God, I wish I was. I wish this was the worst of it. The top floor neighbor had some unidentified pet, whose urine and feces were WASHED DOWN THEIR PATIO DRAINPIPE, ONTO OUR PATIO!!!! We complained three times, and while the office staff was horrified, they did not do anything about it until the third time. However, even then, they did not give them notice to move out as promised. So, while the feces shower eventually stopped, the 47 people crammed into that apartment retaliated, they would curse at us or make sexual comments to my girlfriend in Spanish for the remaining 11 months of our sentence. Also, all neighbors seemed to shed garbage like some people have dandruff. There would be a thick trail of garbage from their cars to their apartments, every single day. I don't understand how the maintenance men put up with it. Of course, the number of roaches and ants we had to deal with no matter how many times we had the place sprayed proved that our neighbors' filthy habits extended into their homes, as well. About the car situation. We were assigned one spot. People had no qualms whatsoever about parking in our spot, until we made it clear that we would tow without mercy. Also, people had no problem parking right in the center of the road, while they shot up crack in their apartments or whatever the hell they were doing, making it virtually impassable for anything wider than a Smartcar. And, apparently, no one can afford a cell phone, because nearly every day from 6 am to 2 am there was a cacophony of people leaning on their car horns to indicate to our neighbors to put down their crack pipes, they were there to pick them up. The other reviewers' complaints about the bums strolling around and vendors honking horns on their carts as they made a slow ten minute walk across the property were right on. Enjoy the sound of automatic gun fire and the security of constant police helicopter flybys' Then this is definitely the neighborhood for you.
It wasn't all bad. The office staff was very friendly, if unable to do anything about anything. The aforementioned maintenance men were very friendly, kept the grounds nice, and the daily trail of trash was picked up every morning by the cleaning crew, only to be replaced withing hours. You think I am exaggerating. You are thinking, how can those people possibly throw so much garbage around' Surely, they have some shred of personal pride. HAHAHA, FOOLS! Move in and see. I try very hard to be a progressive, modern, equitable person. This place was making me a racist. I am now recovering in Ahwatukee, where people conduct their business as if other people exist.
