If you dont have to deal with staff its great. From: jackrabbit65 Date posted: 4/15/2006 Years at this apartment: 2002 - 2006   I have lived in The Moorings for about 4 years now. Sometimes its good, sometimes not. Currently the staff simply put, sucks. They dont care about anything but filling the vacancies and will rent to anyone so the 'class' of people moving in recently has brought loud parties, crime and unsupervised children. Since the staff rotates so quickly due to the rude and unresponsive manager sometimes the leasers are good and sometimes not but as of now they suck. No security staff at all, and occasionally a tow truck will come through and tow anybody who has expired tags or parks in handicapp, but it seems they only do it when they need money or something, every 4 or 5 months for a night or two, no consitency at all in any kind of policy enforcement including 'notices' from staff. Havent had much wrong with the place that I couldnt just fix myself so I dont deal with the maintenance staff other than to say hi. The gates have never worked properly so any advertisement that its a gated community is pretty much a lie. I dont use the pools or the workout room so I cant speak of them but there are people in them when its nice out so I assume they are ok. They look clean. Parking is limited if you have more than 1 vehicle. You can find a spot but it may not be near your place. The cops are here occasionaly but thats not unexpected in this area, especially in such a huge complex. My motorcycle was vandalized one time about 8 months ago but no other problems before or since. As far as bugs they only seem to come out 2 times a year, ants usually and spraying the outside entries of my apt with raid seems to prevent them coming in. At least there are no scorpions like in other parts of the valley. I did see a tiny (6inch) snake once. The upside is the apts are huge and a really unique floor plan and the location can't be beat as you are about 1 mile from a freeway intersection located between tempe, scottsdale and mesa. 15 minutes from the airport.
