Ok, first off, I am not going to sugarcoat this review.
I am going to be 100% honest.
I have lived at the Moorings for a year now and I plan to renew my lease when it is up next month.
Sure, there are problems here.
There are problems at any apartment complex.
The cats' Yeah, there are a lot of stray cats and yes I have had them spray on my back patio door before but it didn't really affect me in any way.
Ants' I haven't seen any in my apartment, only outside.
Of COURSE there are going to be ants outside, what the heck do you expect'' Roaches' I have never seen a single roach in my apartment in the year I have been here.
Spiders' Um, not really...
maybe one or two.
Police' I have seen the police at the complex maybe three times in a year.
Now keep in mind, I live in the back of the complex near the canal (BEST place to live) so there could be more going on upfront that I am unaware of.
Car break-ins' Never experienced that or knew of any of my neighbors who did.
Slow maintenance' Ok, I do have some gripes with maintenance.
Not so much that they are slow, but they tend to do a pretty sloppy job.
I have had 2 leaks, one coming from the dishwasher and one from a pipe in the wall of one of the bathrooms.
They were quick to fix both leaks, but then left me with holes in the walls for about a week while the drywall dried.
Ok, fair enough.
But when they came to repair the walls, they did a pretty shotty job both times AND they still to this day have never painted over the wall repairs.
I just don't care enough to invite them back into my apt.
to do it.
To continue with what I DON'T like...
I don't like my new neighbors, haha.
Unfortunately there is nothing I can do about that.
Oh, someone had mentioned the apts.
were poorly insulated.
Are you f'in kidding me''' I have kept my A/C set at 70 all summer when I am there, 76 when I am not there.
My highest electric bill this summer was $150.
If you think that is high for AZ, perhaps you need to move to a cooler climate.
My last apt came with $300 electric bills in the summertime.
The complaints of noise' Again, I live in the very back of the complex and it is SUPER quiet.
The only time I ever hear any neighbors is when my upstairs neighbor has a party or something, but he has always been respectful when we bang on the ceiling for him to turn the music down :-)
Now for the good things about the Moorings.
The size is fantastic! The apts are (I think) 1100-1200 sq ft which is huge for an apt.
The master bedroom is a great size.
There is a patio/balcony off both bedrooms.
The patios are a great size.
I don't really like the new patios that they have constructed though.
They used to be solid wood so there was much more privacy.
The new patios are slotted gates so people can see in.
They are repainting all of the buildings and adding new landscaping which is really freshening up the look of these apts.
One thing I think they SHOULD do, is update the insides a little.
New light fixtures would be nice, since the dining room light is straight outta the 70's.
I personally need a new fridge (which reminds me I better call them), but if they could replace all of the appliances, they could easily rent these apts for more.
They just need a little updating.
I like this place a lot.
It is quiet and spacious and well laid out.
I have never felt unsafe.
You really can't get much better for the money.
Just keep in mind that when people come on here and write a bad review, its because they are pissed off for some reason.
Everything great about the place just went out the window and they feel as though they are getting revenge by dissing the place.
