I lived at the Moorings until July 2008. When I moved into these apartments in July 27 2005 the man who rented the apartment told me the carpet would have to be replaced in 2008 because it was already 2 years old. So since I already was aware I needed to move out when my apartment flooded I cleaned the carpet and they did not change the carpet. Now that I moved out they are telling me that I need to pay the replacement of the carpet. I argued with the Manager Michelle who said that even though they have to replace the carpet anyway because of the floods why should I get away with the fact that my dog left a spot on the carpet. Mind you these apartments have been roach infested which I got rid off because they could not get rid of the roaches and had to clean the carpet after 2 floods. I explained to her that I was not going to pay because she had to change the carpet anyway. I asked her for her Supervisor's phone number and she refused. I told her I wanted to contact her Supervisor and that I was aware that someone was paying her paycheck and I wanted that number. I received this number 1-888-657-7762 which I called and left a message because it seems it is a general number. Michelle was rude and nonprofessional. I told her that the man who rented the apt to me told me about the age of the carpet. She stated that since he had not given it to me in writing it would not stand up in court. However if I do decide to go to court I will ask that the Judge summons the man who told me about the fact that the carpet needed to be change by 2008. DO NOT RENT FROM THE MOORINGS.
