I lived in the Moorings for 3 years, with my family, and have been away for a year now.

The negative comments are true.

Repairs took weeks, were often half finished, and shoddy at best.

The pocket door that lead to the pantry from the kitchen broke a week after we moved in.

We were advised it couldn't be fixed, and would be boarded over.

That never happened, and upon move out they attempted to charges us $500 for a new door.

Good advice- keep the little slips the staff leaves after a repair.

It showed they couldn't fix it, the fee was waived.

We were also charged for the large vertical blinds having punch holes in the bottm of them.

These blinds break, they are fixed by punching the opposite side and rehanging them....

we didn't know it, so note this on your move in if they are damaged at all! The deck remodels were a debacle at best- there is paint everywhere (again, tried to claim I did this...).

Good luck if you do have an issue- the staff is always right, if they bother to answer the phone.

We were threatened with eviction, once, becuase our account was $36.42 off.

I took my cancelled checks in, asked nicely to be shown the mistake, and waited.

A new billing system had been put in...

turns out 90% of the complex of 350 units went past due that month.

Zero common sense really, and the final explaianation was that they'd credit me.

I found that odd- I didn't owe the money...

34 months, 34 checks in the amount of my lease details.

The pools were passable- can't blame management for lazy parents not watching their kids.

Ask them about the last time the chimneys were cleaned...

the answer is never.

Fire hazzard central! I was told I could not have it done myself either- it would violate my lease.

It wasn't a bad 3 years, though the place's quality of residents was declining fast.

Beware, note EVERY detail of damage, call for repairs 3 times a day if they don't answer...

as with anything, though, buyer beware!
