CAUTION!!! CAUTION!!! CAUTION!!!

Years at this apartment: 2008 - 2009
We have had problems since the FIRST day here at the Moorings. All of the previous complaints are true - slow maintenance, ancient appliances that do not work right, etc. The onsite manager is unbelievably ignorant and RUDE, the regional director is her twin sister, I think - same attitude, same ridiculous ideas. Customer service was a class that IMT obviously does not require - you won't get any from them or any of their employees. We wanted to let them know of unsupervised kids, provided names and apartment numbers, and they told us to go talk to them ourselves... they also told us that they investigated (what's there to investigate' We did the work for them and WROTE IT DOWN) and they couldn't find the kids (some live across the walk from us, the other one still lives where we told her - we still see him). We went to the Better Business Bureau and IMT kept telling them that "the case is closed, the problem has been dealt with," but nothing has been done. We are paying for an "upgraded" apartment; when I called, they said this includes: light switches with dimmers, two ceiling fans, digital thermometer, and lighter cabinets. We have: one dimmer switch, NO ceiling fans, an old thermometer (definitely not digital), and cabinets that are old, I had to clean myself when I moved in, and don't look "light" to me.
People who enjoy living here are those who have large dogs (many who don't like to clean up after them), college-age people who like to party, and people with kids because they can let them roam around without supervision and it doesn't matter to management.
We had a slow leak in the bathroom that, by the time we figured it out, the cupboard had rotted out and mold had grown; maintenance came in to fix the leak, saying they'd come back when it dried out to fix the cupboard (leaving the mold). We had to clean the mold (I'm allergic) and, more than five months later, the cupboard still was rotted out and we had to put in another work order to get it fixed.
We had an incident of girls across the way throwing rocks at our front door and breaking our window - right after it happened, we ran to the window and the girls yelled "sorry." We told management and they told us we would have to pay for the window before they fixed it. We wrote to IMT corporate with no response for many weeks, so I went to the Better Business Bureau (apparently the only way to get a response from them) and I got a call from the manager onsite, who told me that our story changed many times (nope - it's been the same since the first time we came in... two incidents, two incident reports put on your desk for the last three weeks) and we didn't see them break the window (who watches their windows'). She said they could not assume the girls had done it because we hadn't seen them - I told her she couldn't charge me because I didn't break it and it is their building (I'm responsible for the inside and what I do to it, not what someone else's rugrats do to the outside - that's not fair to me, unless I decide to go borrow someone's kids to start vandalizing someone else's property). She was persistent and EXTREMELY rude. Eventually the window did get fixed (at no cost to us, thank you BBB), but the customer service got no better.
The website is extremely misleading - the pictures are of one extremely doctored unit... don't be fooled. If you think you're going to have problems in the complex (and you probably will if you are someone who likes to mind their own business and just live comfortably), I would stay away from the Moorings - you won't get any help from them, they want you to fix it yourself. If you get maintenance to fix something - don't let them leave until it's right! And, if you think your dishwasher is going to be a life-saver, it's likely not going to work.
