Moving to the Saratoga apartments was my biggest mistake ever. I should have done my research. Don't be fooled by the model apartment. I highly recommend you ask to see yours before you move in. My income was terrible at the time, and I needed a cheap place to live; quick, since my roommate moved out of state and I could no longer afford to pay rent on a 2-bedroom house by myself. I made the mistake of moving in to the first place I could find since I was in such a rush. I personally will never return to those apartments due to the roach infestation and the fact that management did nothing when I brought up the issue. There are pigeons everywhere! The management has a no-care attitude and make it clear they're annoyed if you dare complain about anything. I moved out of there once my lease was up and I had a better-paying job. Here are the pros and cons of Saratoga Apartments. You be the judge. As always, you can look for yourself. ANYONE can go in and out of those apartments, especially druggies and the homeless.
PROS:
1. Brand new carpet at time of move in. (Not sure if all apartments do this)
2. Friendly maintenance guy. (Can't say the same about management)
3. Furnished. (Twin bed, couch, dresser, refrigerator, stove, and coffee table)
4. Utilities included
5. Fairly close to ASU.
CONS:
1. ROACHES. HUGE, MUTANT-LOOKING ROACHES. It was like something out of a horror movie. I am not exaggerating when I say HUGE. I NEVER left food out, and my apartment was always clean, but you as a resident can't do anything about it because the walls are poor-quality and they can come in from your next-door neighbors.
2. There are pigeons EVERYWHERE!!! They have an awful stench, and being birds, they poop all over the place. Watch your step!
3. Walls are paper-thin. You will be able to hear ****EVERYTHING**** that your neighbor does.(i.e; taking a shower/using sink or toilet)
4. Security guard that rides around in his bike couldn't hurt a fly.
5. DRUG ACTIVITY. Even my neighbor tried selling me drugs!
6. DISGUSTING cupboards. Ask to see inside them, you'll see what I mean.
7. Management is rude.
8. Refrigerator is no taller than about 5 feet. It broke twice and management did NOT compensate for my spoiled food. They did not even apologize for the trouble. Not a care!! Oh, and the freezer is not really a freezer, it's a frost machine. Look for yourself!
9. No covered parking. No assigned parking.
10. DISGUSTING TOILET. I never had guests at my apartment because the toilet was EMBARRASSING. Of course, the not-so-friendly management didn't care to replace it. They said there was nothing wrong with it!
11. Dead grass. Messy "sprinklers" just squirt water and create mud puddles.
12. LOCK YOUR DOORS!!!
13. The oven/stove is rusty and very old.
14. Cheap fixtures. (Broken paper-roll holder. Broken "medicine cabinet" sliding door. Very rusty and small.
15. Pool hours not enforced. Pool gate never locked. Be prepared to hear loud, inconsiderate residents at the pool during late hours.
16. Homeless woman going through the dumpsters every morning. (If you make the mistake of moving here, you'll see her; She walks around with some bamboo stick on her shoulders with a cloth full of who-knows-what hanging on each end of the stick)
17. Do not be fooled by the well-kept plants by the leasing office. You'll be lucky if the grass near your apartment survives.
18. GHETTO
19. Trash in the parking area, by the mail, and laundry room.
20. Terrible air-conditioning. Leaks and does not circulate well.

I currently live here, I don't have any roaches, I can't hear any activity of my neighbors, except that I can hear people stomping up the outdoor stairs.
Management is actually nice, older bearded maintenance guy is rude.
My toilet is new, Mud puddles? I don't have any near my side. The Oven is new, so is the fridge, alas they are extremely compact.
Pool is locked at every night with key access (I've never seen anyone use the well maintained pool).
Homeless woman is very nice, she's gotta eat and she don't stand on a street corner begging, like some white trash street beggers.
Trash, left from inconsiderate trash oriented individuals, is picked up by maintenance each morning.
I have an indoor fan to help circulate the cooled air from the air conditioner.
One of the biggest annoyance was the not so clean carpet when i moved in. but no worries i used my own carpet cleaner to get it as clean as possible, who really doesnt thoroughly clean an apartment they just moved into? I know I sanitize every area of each apartment I've moved into, BEFORE i move my own things in...
Mike the security guy is very nice, and he's a tough guy who will kick some ass before any wrong is done on his shift!!

To Mr. "Anonymous."
Are you sure you live there? Are you sure you aren't a part of the very "rude management" most speak of?
Your post at first is an exact polar opposite of the reviewer then switches quickly as if you do not want to make it too obvious that you may be up to something as you directly counter the reviewer. I'll go with "learned.my.lesson," so that people reading this are pointed in the right direction and not to this place. Sorry if I'm wrong but for people reading this I stand the same. Read the MAJORITY of reviewers. FIND ANOTHER PLACE TO LIVE IF YOU CAN. IT IS IN YOUR BEST INTEREST
