They're friendly when you're looking, but unreasonable when you're renting.
There are constant repairs going on with the water system, so expect to go without water often. Don't be surprised if you end up without hot water for days.
As long as you live there and don't require any maintenance or cause any wear and tear on your apartment, you may be okay. However, if anything does need repair (which it will - this is an older complex) you can look forward to barely acceptable fixes.
The door to the balconey in the bedroom wouldn't shut tight - their fix' Add a random door knob so you can pull harder...
The front door won't lock - their fix' Add a few more screws (an additional 7 to 10) to hold the panel tighter.
One gate to the pool won't open - their fix' "Use the other gate - go around."
The hot water isn't working - their fix' Day 1: "Be patient - we're working on it." Day 2: "We're doing what we can." Day 3: "Do you have a friend or relative's house you could shower at'"
If you go against my strong caution, be careful to document EVERYTHING when you move in if you don't want to leave being charged for every little thing.
We were charged for items that were 'repaired' when we moved in so we didn't document them. In particular, the front door must have been kicked in previously and the way it was fixed was by putting screws in the door to hold it together. We didn't document this, as it was 'fixed' when we moved in. The screws didn't hold, the door started seperating, and we had to pay for it because we didn't have proof the damage was caused prior to move-in. Nope, the fact that the screws were all painted to match the color of the door (meaning they had been there for a while - long before we moved in) wasn't proof enough, as I was told their maintenance team randomly does painting touch-ups. (My reply was that they probably weren't going to go around painting screws in the doors, to which the manager retorted, "They do a lot more than you think" - okay, how about they stop painting screws in the doors and fixing that water heater problem we had when we went without hot water for 3 days')
Cars are always getting broken into - mine and my fiance's were both victimized. A neighbor had her car broken into 3 times in the 6 months she had been there.
The pool is nice, except it gets overrun with teenagers who do not live in the complex (they will literally jump the gate - to which the front office's response was they would send someone over to check it out...Which didn't happen, despite numerous complaints.
There were many times I would go into the front office pay my rent or request maintenance and no one would be there - everything was unlocked, tenants records left laying on the desks, and I would end up waiting for literally 10 to 15 minutes for someone to return.

I totally agree! We are living here right now and it is horrible! Once they have you sign the lease, they could care less about you.

I also agree, they were incredibly nice when I moved in and after that, who cares as long as they're getting my money. Luckily I haven't had any problems with car break-ins, but I also agree that the apartments themselves were VERY poorly renovated. There are paint spatters all over the counters and floors, the drawers are very difficult to open and close, and the place smells horrid.
