I have lived at the Springs for some time, I moved here because my wife and I are looking for a home and did not to rush into something. We have some friends that had just moved in and the place seemed pretty nice. And is an ok community. Issues we had were:

1. When we moved into the apartment it was completely filthy to the point our feet turned a dark brown/black from walking on the carpet and the counters were covered in a light suit. The apartment manager said she would have the cleaning crew come by in 3 days. They came by 5 days later and vacuumed, thats it. So my wife and I had to rent a steam cleaner and clean the place our selves.

2. The day we moved in we noticed that the fireplace was on, there was a flame about 3-4 inches coming from the gas source. This was causing the fireplace to be extremely hot, so during the AZ summer I was trying to air condition against a fire as well. They did not leave me any key or tool to turn off the fire and said that no one was available to help us till next week. We had to AC against our fireplace for 3 days!

3. Bugs...everywhere...My wife and I are very neat and tidy people (her more than me) but I have had to kill at least a bug (spider, cockroach, or cricket) a day for the first 2 months. Then it was good for a couple months and for the last 2 months it has been extremely bad. Last night I killed a wolf spider (looked like a small dog it was soo big), and multiple (3) other little unidentifiable spiders. It may have to do with the increased amount of standing water in the complex.

4. Our washing machine broke, ok no big deal, things happen.... The office said that it would be 2.5 weeks until the part gets here and they are sorry for my inconvenience. I did not know they said that, my wife did not inform me, until about 2 weeks into the issue. I went to the front office and complained to the manager that it was unacceptable. She turned it around like it was my fault, and they are just trying to help me out. Then offered another washer in storage. So instead of just changing it out at the beginning they waited till we made a fuss about it and then gave us the new one....grrrrr....

5. It is a GATED COMMUNITY!!!! NICE....Not really though in 6 months the gate has been broken 5.9 of them. They blamed it on someone ramming it. Ok, well is someone rammed my gate I would fix it ASAP. Not take 6 months to do it.

6. Fitness Facilities! Wait the equipment is more like a collection of death traps. My wife has attempted to run on the treadmills and all 3 times, on different machines, they have seized up causing he to either fall, stumble and grab onto the guide rails to keep from falling, or launch forward into the front control panel. When she informed the staff they said, "oh, its been doing that lately." Now I am not one to point out stupid statements, but.....WoW....If a piece of equipment if faulty maybe you should FIX IT, WARN PEOPLE ABOUT IT, PUT A SIGN UP "BROKEN!" They are just waiting to get sued on that.

7. I like 1 of the maintenance men there, he is a former Viet Nam Vet and deserves to live the rest of with ease. He is a hard worker and is very nice. Some of the others looked like they were just released from prison.

I do not mean to be a negative person but do not want someone to make the same mistake that I did. This apartment complex could be outstanding with a little effort and some leadership. The place to too expensive for the area and is probably priced that way because of the flight school and Boeing.


Just to be sure...Each of my issues were escalated to a member of the management within a day if not the same day the issue was found.


Also in some other posts there are some poor comments about the foreign pilots. They are nice, they are not terrorists, they are just foreigners trying to learn a trade. They do party once in a while, but it usually coincides with a graduation, or a new pilots license (since there are multiple that they have to earn while here), or some other occasion like that. Any time I have asked them to park straight, turn their music down, or anything they have apologized and done it.

THANKYOU FOR BEING SO UNDERSTANDING KIND SIR/MADAM.. i am a pilot myself and i know tht v r being a pain t u all.. v always try to keep it down, but wen parties happen, they do tend t get outta hand...i sicerely apologies for the same on behalf of everyone out here... we have no intentions of doin the same.. i hope everyone reads this.
